I have also been put on Metafomin and Prometrium this month to help me conceive and I have yet to have a period so I don't know what the problem is. Good luck with trying to conceive and I hope both of us are able to do it.

This is my second cycle ater starting on Metformin. Last month my period started on day 30 which is a little shorter than normal. I am now on day 32 and no sign of a period. I am wondering how long people were taking metformin for before they had a more regular 28 day cycle? hope you are all well. x

Did any of you get pregnant and miscarry prior to the use of Metformin?

We have been trying to get pregnant for 18months and I have been on metformin for 2 and a half months. Last night my best friend told me she was pregnant - of course I am totally chuffed for her and her husband - today I have felt totally deflated and upset. Not with her, Its just hightened the feeling of not being pregnant. It was her first month of trying - lucky or what?! I am supposed to be meeting her later but really dont fancy it. How do I see her every week without feeling rubbish and empty inside?
Please Help!

I have been on meformin since november 1st, ...october 24 period started with provera, november 28th spotting, december 23 period, and january 20th period started, I think I am on a 28 day cycle now...So lets see if I get pregnant.

hi i went on metformin to fall pregnant with my daughter and i feel the first month of taking them and that was after trying for 2 years without them

I have been trying to fall preg for over 2yrs I could not understand why I was not conceiving I finally went to the Dr had all kinds of test and I was told I had PCOS DH checked out fine.Dr put me on Metformin I have been in it for almost five months I had made the bathroom my bedroom I didn't give up taking the Metformin I went back to the Dr she gave me Clomid 100mg 2-6 cd and I also take Metformin 850mg 2x a day. Well I caught AF Jan 28th started clomid Jan 29th this is my 3rd day of clomid I am on a 28 cycle so I guess I should O on Feb 11th but I will be BDing DH Feb 9th -14th It is all just a waiting room now and I couldn't think of a better place to wait is here with you gals. well today i got a blood pregnancy test done will see tomorrow!! i'l let you guys know =-0!!! i don't think i'm pregnant i dont fell anything. if it comes out -n i'm
getting progesterone shot, and 200mg of clomid and will see baby dust to all of you gals. ;-)))))

Hi my name is Meggan. I am trying to conceive baby #3, with no luck. Fater 2 years of not "not" trying I recently went to the doctor. He told me I had PCOS and put me on metformin after doing some test. I have been on metformin for 2 mths only 500mg once a day at night. I had no trouble conceiving my other two. As of right now my AF was suppose to show on 1/29 but she didn't show. I took a test this morning and of course BFN. Could it be to early to test? Any advice from ANYONE!!???

hi, i've just come across this site and its great to get someone elses's perspective on things.i'm 31 and have pcos which was diagnosed when i was about 18. have never had regular periods apart from on the pill but have no other symptoms of pcos. i have an 8 year old who was conceived after having no periods for 10months but was a great surprise and the pregnancy went well. have been ttc for about six years now with various fertility treatments, clomid, ovarian drilling and injections. i stopped the treatment after getting an ovarian cyst and decided to leave it to nature, however out of the blue last year i suffered two early miscarriages. my doc has now put me on 1500 of metformin (which was not available when i initially started my fertility treatment four years ago). have only been taking for three weeks so we'll wait to see, from what i've heard it seems hopeful. i was told the reason for my miscarriages was probably due to hormone imbalance from pcos, my doc has told me to stop metformin if pregnancy occurs however after reading various articles about this, seems to be a higher chance of a successful pregnancy if metformin continued. goodluck to all. pregnancy can happen even with pcos-just don't give up but don't let it take over!

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with a healthy little girl and I've been taking 1000mg of Metformin since 1dpo. So I'm a true believer in it....I'm taking thru the whole pregnancy to help hormone balance(as I have high testosterone with the PCOS), prevent gestational diabetes and to help the baby not be huge in size. Good luck to everyone taking the Metformin, it's worked wonders for me so far!

i have been on metformin for two weeks and have just had a positive pregnancy test. i did four tests you buy from the chemist and i have a referral for a blood test. i'm suprised and shocked that it could happen so fast esp when i am only on 1/2 tablet twice a day. Does anyone know if this causes false positives?

hi gals first thank you Alex, my blood pregancy test came out negative, so yester day i got my shot of progesterone i'm going for 2nd cycle, i'm so glad for Ally, and Kerri hope everything goes well.

Hi all. On my 3rd full cycle with Metformin, its day 14 and I am ovulating! I normally ovulate any day between day 16 and 20 so I am really pleased. The Metformin are obviously doing something. Better go wake my hubby up and make the most of it!!! Wink wink nudge nudge... wish us luck

TO KERRI, HI remember me. I found out I was pregnant not to long after you with twins. I am now 22.6 weeks preg. with baby girls. And they are jut fine. I stopped the metfomin early on with the advice of my dr. (I was so scared to stop it from everything I read) But by the grace of God my babies are just fine. I just wanted to keep in touch and let you know. Let me know hows your pregnancy going. Take care and god bless.
