So....I guess I should tell everyone a bit about me, since I plan on staying here awhile!
My name is Ashley and I am 21. DF...soon to be DH on May 14....is Barry and he is 24 next week. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY! lol. We have been together for 5 years. I started AF at the age of 13 and they have nevvvvvver been regular. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism my senior year of high school, I kept gaining weight and not having AF (unless on BC) and I finally got a diagnosis. Last year, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. NOT INVASIVE. THANK GOD. Doc told us to start TTC asap because I could very well need a hysterectomy anytime. So...we were more than ready and had actually been ttc for 3 months at that time...so we continued what we were doing. But, it is hard to TTC when u never have AF!!!!! Doc finally decided to figure out what was up since the thyroid meds were not helping with regulating AF and weight gain. After some tests, I was diagnosed with PCOS on January 6. Doc wanted me to go on 3 months worth of BC and start Clomid in May or June.
So...she had to run some tests and on Jan. 7 I got a call that i was miraculously preggo! OMG....i know! Turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. You could only imagine the pain! Trying soooooo hard and having it ripped away from you in a few short days...it feels like someone ripping your heart out!
So, here I am!!! Took provera to start AF...will start BC tomorrow and take it for 3 LOOOOOONG months. Supposedly it helps get your ovulation on track and increases Clomid success.... idk but i sure hope so!!!
Also, I talked with Cheri, the baby psychic. I was so desperate! Anyone want to hear what she said??

Hey Ashley!
Thank you for sending baby dust my way! lol Hopefully this second cycle will do the trick :) But even though AF showed, at least I am making progress.
I did some research on the instead (soft) cup....looks like women have had success with it. We might try it, couldn't hurt...right?! lol
And yes, I would love to know what the baby psychic said. And not to be so nosy, but what state are you in?

Very true! Ur definately making progress. And ur right...what will it hurt?? I am wishing u luck :).
I live in Kentucky.
WELL....... First off, I am not really into psychics and stuff but I was sooo desperate and I thought it would be fun! She said that she sees 2 children in our future a girl and a boy...June is the month for both, so it could likely be twins, but she thinkgs they are both singletons. She said I will either conceive this June (which will be my first clomid month) or give birth next June. So I am realllllly hoping that we get lucky this June or this September. She has ike a 90% accuracy rating, so that is pretty awesome!
She did give me hope! :)
She also explained their personalities and everything and it is soooo funny bc the little girls sound JUST LIKE ME and the little boy sound JUST LIKE BARRY!!!! She said he will look just like Barry and she will look like both of us, but I have my facial shape. It was really neat to hear everything.

aby1989 -Good luck! my thoughts are with you, and hoping it happens soon. My story is on page 12 of the forum if you're interested.
Just thought I would give everyone an update. I was starting to get worried that I wasn't going to 'o' this month since the 1st month on 50mg I got a positive test on cd13 then the 2nd month I didn't 'o' so they increased my dosage this month. I'm on day cd16 and was discouraged this morning when the 'o' test was still negative. Tonight I took another one though, and it was positive!! Yay! I'm so happy that the clomid worked this month. We've had sex everynight for the past 6 nights and will again today, tomorrow and Monday. Hoping that does the trick! Now it's just a waiting game for the next 14 days before I can take a pregnacy test. Hopefully month 3 is the month!

This is a great forum, and one that I need to read. I have a wonderful 20 month old son, but have been referred to a fertility specialist while trying to conceive a second child. I did conceive in June '10, but lost the baby six weeks later. To make matters worse, my cycle had not regain any sense of normalcy, whereas previous to the mc my cycle was like clockwork.
My ObGyn referred me to the Fertility Specialist in January and I was prescribed 100mg of clomid for the clomid challenge test in order to assess my ovarian reserve, as well as get me started on it. According to my cd16 ultrasound, I was about to ovulate 3-5 eggs... crazy.
I am extremely hopeful for a baby, but also know not to expect anything. Your stories keep me hopeful.

aby1989-
Oh, I have family in Kentucky. Sorry to be so nosy, I was just wondering how close you were to where I live.
That is so cool! I would love to go to a psychic, I too am not into any of that myself...but it would be a fun thing to do. I hope that she is correct and that you guys get your little one soon :)
I know that I sound crazy, but I am so excited about my AF coming on its own this month, it is just giving such a great feeling :)

jac1019-
I am so sorry to hear that you lost after six weeks. I am hoping that you get pregnant your first time around. That is wonderful that you have a 20 month old and that you were able to have the experience of having a baby :) Congrats on the first, and fingers crossed and prayers for your second.
This really is a great forum, I am so glad that I found it. I have read so many stories that have given me hope and have chatted with these ladies that give wonderful advice and info. It is just great to have others to talk to that are going through the same thing.
Good luck to you, keep us updated :)

jac1019 - I agree, this forum is my life savor, it gives me hope. It's hard not to feel discouraged all the time when I feel like everyone around me is pregnant right now, except me.
I'm currently on CD18 and had a positive 'o' test on Saturday. This is my 3rd round of clomid. I'm now at the higer dosage of 100mg becuase 50mg only worked the first month for me but not the second. I hate this part of the cycle because now all I can do is wait until Feb 26th until I can take a pregnancy test. I try not to get to excited or nervous because I know the stress on my body isn't good, but somedays I can't help it!
Good luck to everyone this month!

Hey Everyone
Just wanted to give you a quick update and share an interesting experience, I am currently on CD 21 or 14, I had one week of spotting before my actual period so the doctors aren't sure exactly which day to count as day 1. anywhoo, last night being valentine's day my husband and i did the BD but this time as the advice of ashley I tried one of those instead soft cups!! I read a lot about them before hand and it seems like a lot of women have had great success. They look pretty intimidating at first because they are quite large but they were super easy to put in and you couldn't feel it at all, just a litle pressure, I slept with it in for approx 4 hours and took it out in the middle of the night. The concept really made sense to me, the longer the little guys stay in there the better chance one will swim up as long as your ovulating. That brings me to my next point, i have been using the OPK's from first response, and I find it really hard to tell the difference between the two lines.. Has anyone else had that problem??
Hopefully everyone is doing well and feeling great, i'll keep you posted to see if the soft cups really worked!!

J-Rafih - I also use the OPK test's and was having a hard time reading them. Sometimes the second line is so close to the same color but not quite so you're not quite sure if it's a positive or not. But when I finally got my first positive I knew it was positive. The 2nd line was definitly darker than the other. . . man that was a good feeling!
What I started doing though, just so I could confirm the positive is that I use the OPK test strips (the cheap ones I buy online) and I use them twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night, because with me my LH surge is a very short window. This way I don't miss it. Once I get the positive I dip a digital test into the same cup of pee to confirm. The digital ones I have come up with a smiley face so you don't have to guess by reading any lines. It's by clear blue.
I find it cheaper to do it that way as well, because the clear blue digital ones (not sure where you live but here in Canada are super expension, $50 for 7 sticks) I actually drive across the boarder to get them for cheaper ($20 for 14 sticks).
Anyways I hope that has helped! Also don't count your first week of spotting as a period. All the doctors I have talked to say that spotting dosen't count and the first day of your period is your first day of actual flow.

Hopefully Soon-
Thank you so much for your suggestions, I live in Canada as well and the first response tests are $36.99 for 7 sticks. I'm going to take your suggestion and buy the cheaper ones and use the digital to confirm.
Also thank you for the note on CD counting, when i track ovulation it seems as though i would ovulate around CD 16 if i counted my real AF as day 1. Counting the week of spotting always throws it off. I wonder if I should start clomid on CD 5 of spotting or CD 5 AF. God you would think the doctors would know this stuff.
Anyone else have this issue?

O baby.... well, I read that if you take clomid your first month of going off the BCP, then your chances are higher and it reduces risk of cysts, so that's awesome! And that would mean I can start in May, my last month of BC. I'm going to talk with doc about everything when I go back for a pap next month. And how r u? What cd r u on?
J rafih...yayyy I am glad someone took my advice. Lol. I reallllllly hope it works for u. Those opk strips are wayyyyy confusing, so idk what to tell u about that. Id say charting ur temps, cervical position, and CM would tell u more than those opks. Baby Dust to u! If I was going to use anything I would also do as hopefullysoon and use the clear blue digital test. Can't go wroong with a big =) face.
Hopefully soon....only 11 days before you can test! How r u feeling?

I have been thinking about getting the soft cups to try. I am so excited to hear if they worked for you. I really hope they do work for you and that you end up pregnant soon! :) Good luck to you! Keep us updated.

J-Rafih - lol yes you would think your doctors should know that kind of stuff. I would say don't take clomid until day 5 of your AF. Don't start on day 5 of spotting as spotting isn't your actual AF yet. Once you start taking clomid you will probably have less spotting before your AF. Good luck! When do you start your first month of clomid?
abg1989 - I'm surprisingly not as anxious this month to test as I was the first month. Maybe just because I know there is a possibility of disappointment. I guess better to prepare for the worst and if I'm pregnant I'll be that much more excited! 11 days probably doesn't sound like much to most ppl but for us ttc it seems like forever!
