J-Rafih - hi im new to the board as well. I started my first round of clomid on Sunday night. So it looks like we are like 2 days behind eachother. I am taking it at night, 75mg, like around 10:00pm and going right to bed afterwards. I have not had any negative side effects, not that I would notice anyway since I take it right before going to sleep. I hope all is well with you and its just period bleeding and nothing more. Well good luck to all you ladies trying for a baby =)

Hi mamas, just wanted to share my story and join you ladies on the journey to conceive. Hubby & I have been married for 5 yrs in May. We have a 6 yr old & a 16 mth old. Our 6yr old was a suprise & our 16 mth old we got doing an IUI. We had issues getting preggo for years after my son was born. so we went to see a doc. No test were done, I just wanted to try the IUI. I had done some looking into IUI and decided we can give it a shot. So we had a sono that day, was given a HCG shot to do at home when I got a + Ovulation test. I had been tracking my period, fertility, and ovulation with mymonthlycycles.com for a while now. When I got the + ovulation test. My hubby gave me the shot and we had the IUI done the next day. Got preggo that time with Cookie our 16mth old. Now were thinking about doing it again, but since I have had 2 c-sections, Im not sure if docs will let me get preggo more than 3 times. So we are trying for twins this time. I have some Clomid, and started taking it this cycle, actually took my first pills on Sunday night. Hopefully we can get preggo this month with the clomid and IUI together. =)

Just thought I would share my storr since I did jump on your board. =)

J-Rafih, I'm sure your doctor knows what he/ she is doing. You haven't heard back from any doctor at his/her office?

Welcome mzmom! How many cycles have you been trying clomid now?

I start my second cycle of clomid tomorrow : 150 mg days 4 and 5; 100 mg days 6 and 7. Weird, right? Whatever, I trust my doctor. Bring on my bratty next few days. :/

Welcome mzmom ;) All of these ladies on here are wonderful, they listen and give great advice...I have learned a bit from each of them :)

Well...can I just say WAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I just found out that one of my friends is pregnant AGAIN!!! This is her second baby! She just had number 1 7 months ago!!! OMGOSH it is just killing me!!! Happy for her, but you all know the feeling you get inside...your heart breaks because you wish it was you :( Oh well....I guess all we can do is pray and wait, right?!

Well, charting my temperatures actually was a success. I knew exactly when I ovulated and exactly when I was going to get my AF. My AF started today, when on clomid its the only time my AF is regular. I start my 3rd round of clomid in 2 days (9th if you count the 6 months of 50mg I was on first). I am not looking forward to the hot flashes I get when I take clomid....its twice as bad on the 100mg! I honestly think that after I am done with the 100mg, I will be done with clomid all together. The longer I'm on it and the higher the dosage, increases the chances of cervical cancer. If I am meant to be a mom, God will give me a baby. I just can't continue to do this to myself. All the disappointment, all the charting and scheduling, it is just too much stress on my marriage and my life. Good luck to everyone on their journey.

First of all I'm sorry if this offends anyone but I really need to say it because it's been really irritating me and nawing at me but I feel that "mzmom" story is a slap in the face. You "think" that you're Dr. might not let you get more than 3 c-sections, but it doesn't sound like you have even inquired into it and just decided to take clomid with the hope of twins. First of all it does elevate the chance of twins but by a very small amount. Also do you even know the side affects of taking it?

janelle christine is right and it can increase chances of cervical cancer. It also thins the lining of your uterus over time making it harder for your body to carry a baby therefore more Dr's suggest you never take it more than 12 months in a life no, no matter your dosage.

If I could have a baby naturally without having to use any fertility treatments I would in a heart beat. This forum is for people who are struggling to concieve and have been trying for a long time and feel the struggles and pain day in and day out. I'm sorry if maybe some of you feel I am being unfair about writing this but I'm here for support, not to have someone throw it in my face that she can have children naturally but decided to try for twins so just thought what the heck I'll try clomid.

janellechristine - my thoughts are with you, I definitely understand your struggles and I'm hoping that this month works for you! I also get really bad hot flashes on clomid, mostly just at night while I'm sleeping so I have fan right beside my bed. lol my hushand has extra blankets on his side because he can't stand the fan, but he's a good sport about it ha ha.

janelle christine - February 23

Hopefully soon-I feel the same way you do. Thank you for being the one to say something. I am on here to get advice and to be able to vent and get support from people going through the same troubles as me. You truly know how it feels to be disappointed and heartbroken every month.

I also get my hot flashes at night....I have the fan by my bed and usually end up stripping down in the middle of the night!

jac1019 - February 23

Janelle christine, and hopefully soon: I too felt that mzmom was very nonchalant in her approach toward this forum with her mention of twins, clomid, and the IUI just because she wanted to do it. At the same time, I kept asking myself,"Am I reading this correctly?" I really do hope that either I misunderstand her, or that she soon realizes that fertility and treatments are not topics that are to be lightly considered. This community shares a sensitive approach to this topic with the understanding of how much heartache it causes people.

Started 150 mg of xlomid today. Stupid me popped all 3 pills in my mouth just as the homeroom bell rang and my students were piling in. Within 40 minutes a few hot flashes, moments of dizziness, and then some mild anxiety. However, I have been basically okay since about 11.

Here's to our multipying follicles!

hopefullysoon - February 24

janellechristine - I don't even wait for the middle of the night to strip down, I just get naked before I even go to sleep so I don't wake up sweating lol! And I notice that I also can get pretty moody for the days that I'm taking clomid. Hopefully the journey and side effects will be worth it for us all!

jac1019 - good luck with this months round of clomid!

I have 3 more days until I can take a test, I take it Saturday morning. I'm really hoping that I don't get AF before then, or at all I guess I should say! I'll keep you all posted with the results! Good luck this month everyone!

O-BABY - February 24

I too thought that "mzmom" was rather lose with the subject. I don't think this forum is the right one if you are just using clomid or any other fertility med just to hopefully have twins! Really?? I too wasn't sure if I was reading incorrectly, but I read it three times through, so I believe that I understood it correctly. Not being able to conceive naturally is why we are all here, and it is definitely not a light subject!! It is very stressful and upsetting for those of us that have not conceived or having been trying for long periods of time with no success.

janelle christine-
I understand the stress that you are going through with all of the scheduling and timing, I believe we all do. I am not trying to sound rude or be way too nosy, but I have found that if you just relax and know that you are helping your chances by taking clomid and you are really helping your chances by not stressing. Stress plays a HUGE factor in not being able to conceive...it needs to be timed and scheduled, but you need to do it at the most normal rate and way that you can. Otherwise it just seems like a routine to you and your significant other and that gets stressful for the both of you. Again, not trying to be rude. And I really do hope that this is your month! :) Sending prayers your way!

O-BABY - February 24

Jac1019-

I too wish you good luck with round of clomid, I really hope that this is your month! It is bound to be one of ours, right?!

Fingers crossed and prayers for all :)

O-BABY - February 24

I used a soft cup for the first time last night! Not uncomfortable at all. Once I had it in, it was strange, but it actually gave me a sense of hope....is that weird? lol

Has anyone notice weight gain while on clomid?

hopefullysoon - February 24

O-BABY I have definitely noticed some weight gain with the clomid. Ever though it's only been 5 lbs over the last 4 months, but that's with me being super healthy and exercising lots. It's definitely frustrating, but hopefully we will get good results from the clomid and have a baby to make all thus side effects with it.

It's hard though when I watch my friends all eat greasy foods and I feel like I eat like a rabbit and they gain nothing and I gain weight.

Have you noticed a big weight gain? Or small like myself? Oh the joys of clomid lol.

mzmom - February 24

hopefullysoon & all others - I have checked with my doctor on it and he did say after the birth of my daughter that one more c section would be fine, but after that he reccomends me to get my tubes tied bc it is too risky to have more than 3 c sections. So maybe I just need to find another doctor, or maybe he had a reason for saying what he said. I have had the same OB/Gyn with both of my kiddos, so I would think he knows about my body and what he thinks is right for me. I did not say that to seem rude or anything, I was just sharing the information that was shared with me. I have been told the same thing by other ladies who have had c sections as well, that doctors dont like to do more than 3. Belive me I will not just take something just to be taking it. Im not that type. I have done all of my research and have talked to nurses about it as well. I do understand and know that it does not just "make you have twins". That is not what I was meaning that I thought I would just Try Clomid Just to Have Twins. I am here looking for advice and support as all others are. I have issues with ovulation and my cycles just as well. I am sorry if you or any other woman can not have babies or get pregnant without the use of fertility drugs. But should you talk down on what myself and my husband has decided to do to help our chances of having another baby? No, and I dont find that fair at all. We had our issues with pregnancy (it was 6 years before we got pregnant with our daughter, with the help of our fertility doctor). Maybe because I am not letting the stress of trying to get pregnant consume me day in and day out I am being too lose with it. I do understand how it feels. I was there 6 yrs of each month getting a negative, going to see doctors who told me there was nothing wrong bc I got pregnant with my son naturally.

Dont worry ladies, I am leaving. Sorry to upset any of you, just thought I could come and share my story and journey as well. Guess not because I have gotten pregnant both ways naturally and with the help of fertility doctors and treatments. I guess since my son was a natural I am not welcome. Good luck to you all. :)
