I am one week after HSG. The results are ok my tubes are opened and no anatomical abnormalities. Doct gave me a shot on the same day prior to HSG and after HSG I took 6 days injections and also tablets against any infection or inflammation. The test was a bit uncomfortable but it will finish soon. I had cramps after HSG but doc told me that is normal and I felt so week I just wanted to rest all the time. I will go back on my first period day to start inducing my ovulation. I hope I will ovulate next month and get prego. He also recommended to stay 7 days on sick leave and to rest as much as you can.

I got pregnant immediately after an HSG after ttc 17 months. Now I am ttc #2 for 17 months so far and I WANT ANOTHER HSG but my RE doesn't think I need one since the first one, 3 years ago, was clear. ARGH!

Hi Dawn--How many days after the HSG did you have sex with your hubby? What day were you on when you had HSG done? I had HSG done on May 3 and had sex 2-3 days after and crossing my finger that I will get prego soon since we've been ttc for over a year. Good luck to you on trying the second time!

Babs, thank you. Let us hope we have your luck. (((((( hugs )))))) To Kaylin - My doctor told me not to have sex for a week, and I think it is right because you need to recover well before anything enters there, just to avoid any kind of problems. Baby dust to all of us ****

Hello everyone. I read your responses to how the HSG feels. That is what brought me here. I am scheduled for one on 5/27. We are TTC-2 for 13mths. now. Our daughter is 3 and she was conceived with no planning. I just wondered if anyone else had done the HSG for secondary infertility?

By the way, all of you ladies are in my prayers. Each one of your stories was very moving. My heart goes out to all of you.

Hi, I just had an HSG Monday.
They couldn't get in though, they said that the tube kept getting caught on my cervix. I was in there for about an hour.
The dye didn't hurt me at all, and they were able to tell that my right tube is clear, they just couldn't get an answer on the left one.
The worst part for me was that speculum thingy that they use to opne you up. I hate those things, we all know a man must have invented that!

Well, because they couldn't get a good read with the HSG, they want to perform surgery. I have a cyst as well, so they want to remove the cyst and while they are in there they will check my left tube. They will also look to check for endo.
I am so pissed off about all of this.
It's like 12 steps back.
Anyone who is going in for an HSG, fear not. If you relax, it's not bad and it's not long. It's better than needing to get surgery. I hope it works for all of you. Thanks for listening.

Babs, I am so happy for you!! I had my HSG on April 27th then I started my period on day 24. I had some blood work done on day 21 to check my progesterone level. I found out that my progesterone level was borderline a 7 so I began clomid last week. Now on day 8 of cycle 2 since the HSG I am spotting again. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this. I had an HSG two years ago in July, I conceived within 6 weeks and miscarried at 10 weeks. Zi, I am sorry for your loss. I am still hurting about my baby I lost Nov of 2003. My son is 5 and I have had no luck conceiving number 2. It is very frustrating. I am a school teacher and have had 2 mothers have babies this year and they don't take care of the ones in my classroom. I just continue to pray. Babs my girlfriend conceived twins and her progesterone was low. She took progesterone and was fine. You will be okay- we will keep you in our prayers. Thank you for giving my hope to conceive real soon- Cami

Hello to alll the wonderful women of this forum. I just wanted to personally say thanks to all your encouraging words and spirits. You know never know how many people are experincing the same type of issues (wow). Bab's, I think more than anyone, you have encouraged more of us to not give up. My husband & I have been married for 5yrs, not really trying the first 4 but now have found out his count is low, & one of my tubes is blocked, the other opened, but dilated. I had an HSG done and had severe pain (the doctor said b/c I had never been pregnant & that my cervix was tight). I had vomitting afterwards. I had a friend who took Perkiset (I think that's how you spell it). Anyway, for anyone who's planning to have an HSG, ask for that b/c she's had two HSG's in the past, and both were painful. With this medication, she only felt the catheter. My god bless all of u with the beautiful families you deserve!!

Hi, I do not know the answer to your question, but it seems like from what I read some pple do get pregnant while some don't after HSG. Let's keep our fingers crossed and pray that it will happen for us. I had done an IUI on 7 May and now I am having my menses. It's disappointing for me, but I will stay positive that this HSG that I will be doing on 30 May will be successful - no blockage and normality is observed. All the best to you and I will pray for you too. Take care!

Nena - May 24

My HSG was 11 May. My af will come 29-30 May. We started having sex from 19th May every day. Can I get pregnant while taking pills (cyclo-proginova) for regulating my menses??? I am not sure if they are contraceptive or not. Does anyone know about this?

Hi all, finally we have visited the doctor my husband and I after all the test we ran and found out that my husband had a very low count and our doctor has put him on medications amongst which is proviron and i don't know if it is powerful to boost d sperm becos i had a sister whose husbands count was low too and they used that proviron and it did not work faster and they resulted to herbal drugs. Please does anyone have such experience let her advice on alternative drugs to take becos am optimistic and believes that this year will not pass anyone of us. As for you Meia, there is nothing God cannot do i believe that a booster will help out. Good luck to you all

We have been TTC for 9 months and finally went for HSG on the 28th of April 05. I found out that I have a bicornuate unicolis uterus, something that am glad I found out before I ever conceived. This is like having two uteruses with two tubes leading from the cervix.....scary..!!!!! I must say but my gyna assured me that I will conceive and must be under her care throughout. Anyway, to-date....day 37 I have not had my periods. Hoping for the best and will share what happens. By the way, HSG is painfull but bearable like real cramps.

Donna - May 24

I had a HSG on May 16th day 9 of my period, tried conceiving the following week. I've been having back pain and cramping since May 22nd. I don't normally get cramps. Is this normal after a HSG or are these signs of early pregnancy?
