I just had my HSG test done yesterday. Yes...it was painful, but only for a few minutes. Forunately all is well. My doctor told me that there are a lot of women who DO get pregnant right away after the test is done. If everything is ok with you and your mates sperm count and you still aren't pregnant, try relaxing. Right before you make love, meditate, have your mate give you a full body message from head to toe, take a warm relaxing bath together, set the mood with some candles and lay next to each other and just kiss each other and caress each other without harsh foreplay. Kissing and light touch relaxes you both and therfore your body will be ready. Also...a few glasses of wine won't hurt either. Also remember afterwards to place a pillow under your hips so everything runs towards your cervix. If you are constantly worring and thinking about getting pregnant...it won't happen. Just enjoy the pleasure that you and your partner are having together and resta assure...it'll happen. Have fun and good luck!

hi ladies, i just saw this thread. i just had an HSG today after 17 months ttc after two easily conceived pregnancies that miscarried. I was set to start IVF last week but they saw something on the scan they thought was a hydrosalpinx, blocking my tube. well my tubes were clear but i'm hoping the HSG will prove to be a fertility cure!! otherwise we start IVF when next af comes. also i just wanted to say that it wasn't painful for me at all, i actually found it less painful then a smear! i guess i was lucky in that regard.

Hi everyone, I new to this site and very happy to find women in the sae boat as myself. I had an HSG done back in Jan and I was told by the nurse that sometimes this procedure will help women get pregnant becuase the dye flushes your tudes. However, it did not result in pregnancy for me but I did find out that my right tude appeared to be blocked or inconclusive. Me and my hubby have been trying for 2yrs as well.

I had my HSG earlier today and it was not that bad, but bad enough! The doctor was great and the results came back as normal. I also got the results of my blood work and there was no elevated FSH, LH etc... I'll keep you posted as to what happens this month or next! Let's pray that we all catch the baby dust! Prayers to you all!

I had my HSG done almost a month ago and still have symptoms! I never had a fever, so I don't think I had an infection, but I have back aches, shoulder pain and when you push on my abdomen it still hurts. What should I do?

i am 42 and trying to get p.g. for over a year now. had a hsg test done, all looks good. my dr. says my eggs are not so good, ovulation is not so good and sperm is not so good. what upsets me is that i have medical background as a paramedic and i know he hasnt even begun to touch the surface of what he can helps us with. yes i am seeking another dr. just because i know it is the right thing to do. i was just wondering if anybody has has brown blood one week prior to your real period, and should this mean anything??? if anybody can share please do. i am also overweight since january of this yr since i stopped with bodybuilding and powerlifting, but i am not morbid obese, all my weight is in butt and thighs... HELP someone, i need to talk.

I would go see a fertility specialist if I were you. You need someone that will listen to you and og over all of you options. I would also get your actual test results with you number stating your fsh level and any other tests the first doctor did and take them to the fertility specialist. My regular gyno. could not give me much help my the fertility specialist was able to descrine to me what was going on. Hope this helps.

nadja-as far as I know, brown blood could possibly be an indication of implantation, which means you could be pregnant! I had it back in June of this year when I got pregnant, but unfortunately it ended in an early miscarriage :(. Good luck!!! Hopefully you will have good news soon!

nadja-just read my post and wanted to clarify because I thought it might be confusing. I didn't miscarry because of the brown blood, it was for different reasons. Meant to say that the brown blood is a GOOD sign! Hope that helps.
Has anyone had an HSG recently? I had one two weeks ago 8/20-CD8, my DH and I BD'd on CD10, 12, 13, 14. (my CM should ovulation on day 14). I've been having really bad cramping and I'm at CD21 now. They are somewhat like menstrual cramps, but more in the lower abdomen on left side. Is it possible that I have an infection or could I be prego??? Anyone have similar symptoms. We had a miscarriage in June and we are dying to get prego again, so any help or info would be great! Thanks so much. Good luck to all!!!

I'm pregnant!!!! Month 2 after HSG after trying for almost 1 year! I had my blood test this morning at 16 dpo.
I have had cramping on and off for the past few days in my left lower abdomen so I guess that is a good sign. Still in shock here.
