Karri, That's so great!!! I'm glad you got pregnant too. Are you feeling ok? I started to feel a little sick and hope it doesn't get too bad. I am wondering also if you are worried about getting pregnant the first month after the HSG? They use an oil substance to do my hSG and I hope it is not known to cause any problems with the baby.. Other than having a little worry about that I am so excited... I wish you a wonderful 8 more months...

I'm pregnant again after two ectopics and an HSG. I a little nervous, but I believe everything is o.k. I ovulated between the 2 -7 of Oct. so I not exactly sure how many weeks I am. They try to go by the first day of my last cycle but I don't have a normal cycle. It's usally between 34-35 days. I have had an ultrasound and they don't see the sac. They also did an ultrasound of my tubes and they didn't see anything there either. I think it's too early and my doctor is unsure. We wants me to wait a little while longer and come back for an ultrasound. At first I was scared nervous and mad. Now I'm encouraged and I'm gonna wait until my HCG is at least in the 8,000 before I go back to get my ultrasound. Has anyone experienced this before?

According to my RE, my progeterone levels are low, indicating that I literally just ovulated or that AF is due. According to my vaginal ultrasound, I am halfway through my cycle, so I hope that it is ovulation. I had an HSG done on the 27th of Sept, so maybe this is my month! I think I nailed it this month with having sex, so wish me luck!! Congrats to all the mommies that conceived after thier HSGs!

Deb - November 7

Your stories are so reassuring! I had an HSG test done on 10/31 and I am due for af on 11/20. My dh and I have been ttc for 7 months and hoping the HSG is our god send! There was a little mucus blockage so hopefully the dye cleared it all out and we will be as successful as some of you! I will be sure to check back and share and I have very high hopes for this month. Hope i am as lucky as you guys on your 1st month after your HSG!!!

Flabblay - November 8

Hi everyone. This is my first time on this site and alaready form your stories i feel more cofident that i will get pregnant. I just had an HSG done today (Cycle Day 12) after trying to conceive for 2 years. Do any of you think I should TTC this month??

me - November 8

As long as the HSG was before your ovulation day, there is always a good chance of getitng pregnant the first cycle. I have heard more success stories about conceiving the month after the HSG though, so don't be hard on yourself if it doesn't happen. Remember, the HSG is not a cure for getting pregnant, just a tool to make sure everything works! And if we get pregnant afterwards, it will be icing on the cake!! :) Good luck ladies!

Wow..talk about inspirational! I've been ttc for nearly 2 years and I'm 35. I'm going to the dr. this week to see what's next in terms of tests etc. I was thinking that I didn't want an hsg, but NOW..I'm going for it baby! Thanks everyone for your stories and for making it clear that hsg is a great tool for ttc!!! Baby dust to all!

I tried getting pregnant for two years also, I thought I had infertility problems from endometreosis, so they gave me an HSG. Two days after I got pregnant with my son, who is now 16 months old. I just recieved another one today, so we'll see if it wirks this time. I'l let you know....

Deb - November 8

Anxious that is awesome! Flabblay - Yes make sure you and your hubby bd! Thats why they do the procedure so close to your ovulation..to give you a better chance of conceiving this month. I had mine done the week of ovulation and we bd like crazy this weekend. I am due for af on 11/20 so I am praying this works! Good luck to everyone else as well and check in!

just bumping it up

they plan HSG's before ovulation so that it doesn't affect a possibly fertilized egg. it is not planned before ovulation to "increase chances of conception". it is a way of testing a woman's system to ensure that her tubes are open and flowing properly (not a conception tool).

Deb - November 9

I understand its not used as a conception tool, my doc just told me they do it after your period to ensure your not pregnant, and then she told me its great that its done so close to ovulation. Many women get pregnant that cycle since its done so close. Was just trying to be positive for Anxious.

Shell - November 9

It is actually kind of a conception tool because it does increase the chances of becoming prgnant..My friend tried for 10 years to become pregnant and the next month after she was pregnant.. I tried for a year and the same month I got pregnant... I had no blockage when I had my test done.. So, it indeed was a tool to help me get pregnant.. They use an oil substance to do the test with and that makes it easy for the sperm to swim through. Now, being that said that does not mean that just because you have an HSG test that you are going to become pregnant right then and there..You could have other issues that are keeping you from conception. It could just be that fact that it might just take you a little longer than the average person to become pregnant. So, don't worry if it doesn't happen right away. Just remember that an HSG for some people does increase you chances... Have a good day and good luck, Michelle

Thasnk Shell. Your so sweet. I hope I am one of the lucky ones. My HSG was showed no major blockage. She just thought there was some mucus blockage since the day only backed up for a few seconds. I will keep everyone posted and hopefully I will be an HSG success story! I have been ttc for 7 months.
