Im still positive spirited about this whole thing, even though my period came down this month. Thanks for the info. yall were right. I cramped like never before. and Pamprin was not helping. Today I took my husbands lab test to the hosp. I think im more nervous than him about the results. And I have an appt w the Dr. in like 2 weeks on Aug 2nd, Hope every thing goes well. Im going to an infertility Dr that has a high success rate of IUI pregnancies. I still have 2 more months to depend on the HSG working. My fingers are crossed for me and all of you chicas out there in the same boat as me.

Hi everyone. I haven't been in this forum for a long time. I need some opinions from someone or anyone of you who have gone through laparoscopy before. I had my IUI done in April but its not successful so my gynae told me to go for HSG. After the HSG was done, I don't feel any discomfort or spotting at all as mentioned here. Perhaps I responded differently to this. Then came the bombshell of the result of HSG showed that both my tubes are blocked. However, my doctor says that the procedure may be inaccurate, cause nothing can be 100% accurate. Aside from that, the report indicated that my uterus is contracting/small. Hence my gynae recommended that I go for laparoscopy. Its actually a minor surgery at the abdomen for them to find out if the tubes are really blocked and also to check my uterine cavity. I need a second or even more than second opinions about this matter. I have done my research and knew the procedure and after effects of surgery, but I still need to hear from someone who has actually gone through this. So if you are the one, do feed me with more information about this. Keep in touch and to the rest of you lovely and wonderful women out there, all the best to you. It can be traumatic but with great support from your families and even from us here, everything will be rosy. So good luck and hoping to hear from someone.

I had a lapararo. done while I was ttc my first. We tried for over 2 years with no results. The surgery was not that bad. They went in thru my belly button. The worst was comming off the general anastesia. It put me down for a day and a half. The doc did not find a blockage but found endo and cleared it. 6 months later I conceived. One more thing. It took a long time for my belly button to go back to normal, but it did. I was worried about that for a while. It is a fairly safe procedure. One risk is scaring of the uterus and tubes that can leave them blocked. Which would not be a problem until years down the road. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

I had a laparoscopy done on 6/21 of this year, and the Dr. did a HSG at the same time . I am 25, Hubby's 27. We,ve been TTC for almost 3yrs. They went in right under neath my belly button, and a month later you can barely even see it. I have one more small incision by my underwear line that is even smaller. My only advice to you is to have large band- aids on hand, and loose clothing. I was extremly sore in those areas for about a week. Took 2 days off from work. Dr. found endo and a fibroid but didn't remove them. The pictures you see afterwards are amazing and if you go around the time you're ovulating the Dr. can see your eggs developing. Good Luck!!!

I suffer from secondary infertility. I tried for two years for my second child with nothing until my HSG. I got pregnant the following month. So this time (trying for the 3rd), I just knew I would get pregnant right away, so I had it done in March after a full year of trying. I'm still waiting. But now I think factors have changed for me and other things aren't working (dangerous cm, etc.). I guess it's just so different each time, that you can only continue to try and hang in there.

Thank you 'To Sue' and Kris for your responses. I am glad that both of you responded to my queries. I will be going to see my gynae soon and will discuss my other concerns with regards laparascopy procedures. I didn't know that getting pregnant can be an issue for me. But nevertheless, support and encouraging words from people like everyone out here makes me want to make it to reality. Will update everyone once I meet up with my gynae and perhaps for those who may be in the same position as me, I will try to put up my concerns and answers from my doctor for all who are looking for more information. Baby dust to everyone. Wish me luck.

Hey everyone! Had my HSG done in June. My question is...why does the radiologist say my best chances to get pg are in the next 3 months? Does something go back to the way it was before? My tests all came back fine. I was just wondering why my chances go back down again. This was my 2nd cycle and no pg yet. I guess 1 more month and back to square one. Has anyone else gotten pg after this 3 month window with no drugs? I am almost 32 and I feel time is starting to slip away. Been ttc 3 yrs and hubbie tests are perfect. Right now everything is "unexplained." (Don't you love it when the doc can't tell you an answer?) Thanks ladies!

hey S from what i understand the hsg cleans out your tubes. so it makes it easier for the sperm to travel. i have been ttc for 2 yrs. and am 28. i have the same feeling. it sucks but try to think positive.i started on clomid this month and also had the hsg. so i am hoping that my tubes are all cleaned out and ready to go. we will see. just hang in there. it will happen. i heard that if you try to forget about it then it will happen faster. yeah right how can i forget about something i want so bad. thoughts and prayers with you!!!!

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 2 years now. I had an HSG done on July 7th. All our tests came back normal, including the HSG - no blockage. My question is: my period usually only lasted four days - heavy the first day, then lighter for three days. Today I started my period and in less than two hours, I went thru a tampon and a pad! (I was concerned I was going to be a little heavier since I was cramping horribly this morning). I am a little concerned. I have never gone thru a tampon and a pad in less than two hours! Any advice?
