this is to joanne... i've been on metformin since 2001 and not once had it made me pregnant, but thats me. i recently stopped taking it and now trying ovulex. metformin only regulated my blood glucose really well. that's the only reason i will continue to take it if i don't become pregnant using ovulex. it may work for you. i have pcos so.......stay in contact and let me know how it works out for you. good luck!

I went to a spiritual spell caster for help getting pregnant. I am not sure who is open to this idea, but I have been very blessed with a beautiful daughter. I tried a lot of things that didn't work, but two weeks after asking for her help I conceived.

My Gynecologist put me on Metformin due to my condition to treat my infertility. I have PCOS (PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome) which causes an insulin resistance. I was only put on it TO GET PREGNANT, so YES it IS used to treat infertility. I just started it myself after many unsuccesful trials of Progesterone and Chlomaphine. I just had to reply since some think it isn't for fertility.

HELLO EVERYONE! I have been trying for about 9 months, and I just found out I hadf PCOS so Ive been put on Metformin for 3 weeks today, I am tired and get nausea and headaches from this but I feel like Im getting used to it. I dont understand why people are saying this doesnt help u to get pregnant when most of our doctors are putting us on this to help concieve. I havent got PG yet but I keep the faith even those theres times when Im so dicouraged I dont even want do it anymore, as sad as it sounds, but I would keep on looking into things and asking doctors as many questions u have to help your chances, I hope you all get pregnant soon! God Bless

TanyaCdn - February 28

Hi everyone..Saw my OB today i was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 17 now 26. Hubby and I would like to have a child and have had unprotected sex for 3 years now. I had a laparoscopy done last Jan and everything was fine, Since the surgery I have had my period every month on my own, but lasting 2 to 3 weeks. We also had him tested and we have to retest because something was wrong if the tests come back the same this time then he has to see a urologist. Anyways OB put me on metformin havent started it yet but now after reading all the SUCESS stories here I cant wait. I hope i get the same result. He is starting me on 250mg twice daily then 500 twice daily then 500 3x day. Hopefully this does it. Baby Dust to all. I also have been to a website called tryingtoconceive.com if anyone hasnt been there its just like this and more. Awesome place.

The side effects I had when I first started Metformin were nausia, head aches and tiredness. The nausia was the worst as I am not a sickly person. The side effects went after I had built up to 500mg 3x per day so stick with it - with any luck it will be worth it. x

Alex, how long did your effects last? because I started my pills 3 weeks ago and my doc started me with metformin 3x a day 500mg I feel that its pretty strong but I havent had a period but im irregular also, do u know if metformin helps to regulate p.? I just want to know how what and WHEN I wish u all the best. Please w/b :)

BW - March 1

I have been on Metformin for about 2 weeks. I have had no side effects. I started on 500mg 2x a day. My cycle usually last 30-33 days and after only a week and a half i started on day 28. I have read a lot of success stories on this. Good luck to you all.

Hallo ALL , I was trying to get pregnant for over two years and a half, I tried clomophine and I was pregnant from the first cycle, but unfortunetly Ihad a missed abortion at 8 weeks, since then Iam trying again , I have taken 6 cycles of clomophine but no success. Recently I stopped clomophine and started from arond a month and a half with metformin 850 mg a day. In this cycle the FA saw a follicle of 19 mm and Iwas plotting the BBT chart and was able to see a change in temperature which showed ovolution...... but still waiting to see if Iam pregnant. But the ovulation was around the day 21 so is it possible to get pregnant with so a late ovulation? does anyone have such an experience ?
thanks

kerri - March 1

I am 26 weeks pregnant and I got pregnant with ovulation occurring on cycle day 31---so YES it is possible to get pregnant with late ovulation! Good Luck!

Cheri - March 1

cailin - March 2

I have had type 1 diabetes for over a year now, and started on metformin about 6 weeks ago. Although it is a diabetes drug, my obgyn started me on it to stimulate ovulation. I had stopped taking the pill in July after my wedding, but only had 2 periods between then and January. The only thing is that it gave me awful headaches and nausea, so I have been inconsistent. I am really anxious to get pregnant and have already had a few false alarms. Does anyone know what other symptoms of pregnancy there are other than missing a period? My periods are still not quite regular, so I can not rely on that. Here's to hoping we all are successful soon!
