What kind of class did you take? And is that 15% chance with IUI? Did you use medication for your 10/29 IUI? I'm sittin here @ work all sad, cause I feel crampish! Sometimes when it's a week before I start that is when I feel crampy sometimes. And I just got the IUI Tuesday, I can't be cramping ALREADY for my period!??? Please keep me posted on your result!

Rachel, I didn't take any meds for 10/29 IUI or the first IUI I did. I'm considering fert. meds for the next IUI (to increase the count of eggs) if this one doesn't work . The class I took was offered at my doctors office, where dr was descussing IUIs. So they said every woman is different, but on average a woman has 15% chance (with IUI) to get pregnant. This Thurday (11/12) I'll find out if this IUI worked.

Thank you for your responce! I just went yesterday to test the Progesterone level, hopefully the Dr will have those results back today sometime. The Dr office just told me to wait for by cycle to start over. So I am just waiting around. I don't feel anything yet, course it's a tad too soon.

Hi Rachel, I have to go for my pregnancy test tomorrow morning, I'm really nervous. I almost don't want to go, because I don't want to get disappointed once again.

Olgakay0518, when are/ were you due for your period?? I hope you come back Friday & tell us you are pregnant! My Dr didn't set me up to come in for that, just told me to wait.

My period supposed to be this Friday or Saturday, my doctor likes to do preganancy test two weeks after IUI. So tomorrow is the day. Hopefuly a good day.

Got a call from the Dr about the progesterone level test. It wasn't good. Said it should be @ least 10, and mine was .03! So unless there was some miricale my IUI didn't work. Because he says I didn't actually ovulate, even though we saw the follicle & hormones was at a great level. I don't get it?? Said they will put me on Clomid now and do a HCG shot this time around. And said he will write a letter to the insurance explaining that I need the coverage cause I can't get pregnant myself.

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes it happens where the doc is not sure if you actally ovulated. Tha't why HCG shot is always good, it makes sure you are ovulating. I can't comment on Clomid, I never took any meds. Anyway I don't think I'm going to go tomorrow to test, I feel like I'm getting my period. :(

olgakay0518 I'm sorry for MIA. The test on Saturday came back negative and AF came later that day. Today is my first day on Clomid again. Maybe this cycle will be our month. Keep us updated on your cycle.

Hey babysophy, I did get my period this morning :( I don't even know what to think any more. My doctor told me to do an IUI with injectables. So I'm going to be doing Gonal-F or Follistim. The shots supposed to increase amount of eggs. But there is a chance of twins. I feel sad. This is very frastrating. I just don't get it. Hopefully IUI #3 will be my lucky #. I hope it works out for you and for Rachel and for everyone else also. Good Luck to us all. Do you know what's better Gonal-F or Follistim?

During my 2ww I went nuts reading these forums, had to come and tell my tale. I am a first IUI success story! My husband and I tried to conceive naturally for 2 years. When that didn't work my obgyn put me on chlomid for 6 months, I then decided that he was not the Dr. for me. I found an AMAZING fertility specialist and she diagnosed me right off the bat with PCOS which my other Dr. NEVER mentioned. She suggested IUI and we got started. She put me on Follistim for 7 days, my follicles were not big enough so she suggested 3 more days and then my stimulation shot. The next day I went in for my IUI. I experienced the worst cramps the next day but I read that was a good sign! I was also given prometrium suppositories twice a day. About a week later my boobs were killing me! Trying to fall asleep on my side was starting to get difficult. I had some cramping pretty much everyday after that, and the nausea and vomiting started 3 days later. Every smell made me sick! I wasn't sure if this was a side effect of the meds or not so I didn't get my hopes up. Then came the naps I had to take everyday just to get by. 3 days before my blood preg test I couldn't wait any longer and bought 2 pregnancy tests. The first was positive! The next day, positive! And today was my blood test, POSITIVE! So if you are having similar experiences CONGRATULATIONS, your IUI took!! I am due July 22. Hopefully it sticks (fingers crossed!!) Good luck all!!

olgakay0518 I know it is very stressful and I am sorry about your results. Let's keep our heads up and know that when it is right, it will happen. I'm not familiar with Gonal-F or Follistim. My OB/GYN have me taking clomid, then the hsg shot and the IUI. The post from jennestrela seems to have a wonderful outcome. I guess it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck to you and all of us who are trying to have a baby. I will keep you updated on this cycle and you do the same. Maybe one day soon we'll be blessed with a beautiful baby. Don't give up!

jennestrela I'm so happy for you. Congrats! You said you tried naturally for two years. Do you know if you have any fertility problem? My right tube is closed so I only have one working tube. If I don't get pregnant in the next few months, I will try surgery. Thanks for sharing your story :-)

OMG!! I love finding people who have gone or is currently going thru what I am!! Ok well I am 23 years old and I am a lesbian. My gf and I are ready to start a family, so we went to Shady Grove Fertility. Dr. Stillman is awesome btw!! Ok so on November 3th and 4th I had my first IUI!! Ok so the following day I started using Progesterone Suppositories twice a day. Little did I know that the side effects mimic pregnancy! :[ I actually thought I was preggers!!! Now I have 5 days left until I go in and take a pregnancy test...the ttw is the worstttt!! Okay so I need some advice,,does anyone think I should take a hpt on Sunday and Monday just to see if it is + or should I just wait until Tuesday? HELPP :[[

babysophy, I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, which means (from my understanding) that my eggs line only the edge of my ovaries and in the middle is a cystic mass that produces insulin and testosterone which triggers the brain not to ovulate. So low estrogen and risk of diabetes. If you are on chlomid I suggest asking your Dr to switch to Follistim shots, if someone told me that 7 months ago I wouldn't have wasted my time with chlomid. Then again we have different problems, I had low estrogen so the shots were definitely the answer. I'm guessing with only one functioning tube you can only get pregnant every other month? Keep us updated.
Altonette, taking an at home preg test worked for me 3 days before my blood test and definitely put my mind at ease. The wait is terrible!
olgakay0518, Follistim is amazing. It was my answer to 2 1/2 years of disappointment, and in just one try. Good luck to you, I would suggest trying that! Don't get discouraged, we all get that amazing phone call one day. :)
