False positive result from ovulation test

Hi, I was dx with PCOS and I'm TTC. My Doc. put me on metformin, last cycle I was supposed to ovulate. I went to my doc's appoiment and he told evevrything was ready for me to ovulate, so he gave me this shot to make sure that I ovulate. The next day a took a ovulation test at my home and it came +. A week latter I went to see my dr., and he did a blood work. The result were that I did not ovulate. Anyone with the same problem??? I'm 6 day late, I took 2 hpt all were -!!!!
