Mumstheword - that's such good news to hear, my next cycle will be days 2 - 6
I'm SOOO confused, I have a really sore throat at the moment, I only ever get a sore throat a day before AF is due (I know its weird, but have been like this my whole life), so last month I had a perfect 28 day cycle without ovulation, tomorrow is CD28, so AF is possibly due again without ovulation. As my temps raised yest morning and today, is it possible to ovulate and AF to start 3 days later? Really sux as there is no time for implantation if we were successful :( But would be able to start my next 50mg at least then this weekend.. oh please let clomid work 2nd time around. I hate to think I might have ovulated on Monday and am getting my period so soon after...
Also, if my progesterone test is due on sat, do I cancel this if AF starts by then, I mean if would not be very useful to tell if I ovulated by then would it?

ANGEL - If your AF shows by by Saturday I would cancel your blood test. Usually your progesterone drops when you get AF, that's what usually tiggers AF. I don't think it would be normal to get AF 3 days after ovulation. I also saw my temps increase a bit last month which I thought meant I had O'd but later found out from my blood test that I didn't. Hang in there, it's only month one. It might take your body a bit to figure this whole thing out. If you didn't O hopefully your doctor will increase your dosage of clomid for next month.
Jac1019 - I'm sorry to hear about your other health issues your facing right now. And really sorry you have to take a month off of clomid! But it's a good thing that they're looking into it now rather than waiting and this way you know you'll be healthy all around when it comes time that you are pregnant. It sucks that there is a delay in your process but in the long rong it is a really good thing!

Hello Ladies :) It sounds like we are all just waiting for right now.....well, isn't that about all we do?!?! I believe that wait will be more than worth it in the end for all of us!
I am on my 8th day of Provera today, so hopefully AF shows and I am able to start my 3rd round of Clomid. It is so weird because I am on cd 39! I am hoping that if this round doesn't do its job, then my doc will up my dosage!
I am located in Arkansas, and I love it! It is so peaceful here and today is GORGEOUS out! 81 degrees, sunny with a light breeze...so nice!
How are all of you doing today?

Morning everyone! Or evening! I'm in Australia so morning here.
So specialist appt was yesterday and I'm feeling hopeful. Starting on metformin tonight to help with insulin and if we have no luck this month we will track a lot closer and use a trigger shot next month. Hopefully this will work! Although I'm now thinking that it probably not work this month. Next

I'm hoping metformin will also help any potential mc issues, I know I will be completely paranoid for those first few months! Let's just hope it doesn't make me sick!

O-BABY - that's the same weather were having here today too! I absolutely love it, it's finally starting to feel like spring! Although summer can't come fast enough for me, I love the warmth!
Babymoon - I'm just waiting to go in to see my fertility dr. I'm just checking in with him since I havent seen him in a while, they always just fax in my increased dosages to my pharmacy. Well Im in there I'm going to inquire about metformin because my insulin is making me resistant to the clomid so I'm hoping that metformin will help, we'll see what he says. Let me know if you get any side effects from it! Maybe the metformin will also help stop the weight gain were experiencing since our insulin would be more regulated?

Have you researched metformin and clomid together? I'm feeling really positive about it, will let you knowabout side effects, here's hoping none.

Babymoon, hoping that you don't experience any sickness, or any side effects for that matter. Good luck :)
hopefullysoon- I am with you, I love the warmth! Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only times that I like the cold weather....other than that it is spring and summer all the way!
I just wanted to ask if anyone has talked to their Doc about their weight gain from Clomid? I am really getting frustrated from it, I have gained like almost 10 pounds in 2 1/2 months!!!! OMGOSH, talk about stressful!! I am going to go ahead and make a call to my doc tomorrow....just wondering if anyone has any info on this??

O-BABY - I know that weight is a side effect of clomid and unfortunately I'm not sure to much can be done about it. I've been eating super strict for the last two weeks (following weight watchers actually) and I've lost about 1.5 lbs. I've found that if I deviate to much I gain really fast. So it sucks and takes a lot of will power but it's working for me so far to counter act that nasty weight gain. My sister also had to use clomid to get pregnant, however she was already over weight before we started taking it. She actually ended up losing 35 lbs before she got pregnant but only because she was seriously exercising. She found running was the only thing that would help her lose weight. And she even did a half marathon. So to lose weight on clomid is super hard :( So shitty! I hate it, but hopefully we'll be pregnant soon and only be gaining baby weight!
Babymoon - so my dr. prescribed me metformin as well. He said he doesn't usually prescribe it but because I'm building a resistance to clomid and I asked about it he said we can give it a try. So we'll keep each other posted on side effects :)
Also at my appt he said that if I consistantly ovulate on the new increase dosage of 150mg that he wants me to stay on it for four months. After four months (starting this cycle) if I'm not pregnant then we'll go to IUI. Also if I'm not ovulating consistanly then we'd move to IUI right away. So here is to hoping that I continue to ovulate more than one month on 150mg.

Good morning, its now 7:30 am here :) We are still having very hot weather although going into Autumn, our summers are a bit too humid so I cannot wait till winter... lived in London for 4 years so I think that's why I suddenly like winter...
I'd love to try metformin for my pcos but the doc says he does not just want to start me on a load of stuff, so he wants to try clomid, and maybe after 6 months try the metformin, I think my visit with the dietician should sort out the insulin resistence without metformin though if I follow her advice.
O-baby - I asked my doc about the weight gain, he said its probably water retention and hormones!! Although I think its just my pcos, worked it out today that I have put on 14kgs in a year... :( That is about 31 pounds :( Now I know it was over a year but its alot! And I'm feeling so down about it. But about 5/6 pounds of it is just from one month of clomid.
Hopefullysoon - I really hope you ovulate on clomid this time... hopefully no reason to go onto IUI cause you'll be pregnant :)
Have a great day ladies!

I only gained about three pounds in the two months I was on clomid, but I am not sure if their were other contributing factors as well. When my father was in the weekend for those two weeks in February, I ate food from restaurants/takeout for every dinner and many lunches. However, two of my close friends were on clomid and both gained about 15 pounds. When I asked my fert. doc. about it, he said it is normal for some women.
Hopefullysoon, I feel like you can't get a break! Now your insulin is causing you to resist the effects of clomid!?!?!?
So, I live in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia, PA. The weather this week is awful and raining! I am so jealous of you who are experiencing great weather! In addition, I have mixed feelings about this month and not being on clomid or having any IUIs. I am at this point so anxious about every month that passes and I am not pg, but at the same time, it's kind of nice to be off of medications and doctor's appointments for one month. Oh, I will be taking my OPK tests this month! I just need to get the rest of my neurology tests done. Good news is, they don't think the aneurysm is in my brain, but rather outside and in a space behind my left eye. That is actually really good news. In that case, we just monitor its growth and treat it if and when it erupts.
I want to hear some more positive reports!

So day 1 on metformin today, I don't think anything is different at all although it's onlybeen 12 hours and I'm on a pretty low dose! :) finished clomid for this month last night too, so I'm looking forward to next week to start opk!
We have decided to go away for the night next Friday as that's when things should be happening, maybe a change of scenery will help!
I'm also very pleased to be at the end of the working week! Have a great Friday everyone! Oh, and the weatheris stunning at the moment perfect fall days!

Babymoon - I'm glad you don't have any side effects yet! I took my first pill last night and do far I don't see any either. He is introducing it to me slowly though and gradually increasing my dosage over the next 3 weeks to minimize any effects. That'll be so nice for you to get away for a night! I think time away definitely helps take some stress off! I can't wait until the end of April as me and my husband are going to Seattle for the day then spending the night and heading to San Francisco the next day for 4 days! It'll be right during my two week weight so hopefully it'll take my mind off things and I'm hoping I'll have good news to go home too!
O-BABY - that sucks about the weight gain but hopefully in the end it'll all be worth it and you'll have a little baby in your arms!
Another question for everyone, just curious how old everyone is? I just feel like we talk so much might be nice to know a little more info about each other:)
I am 26 (will be 27 later this year) and my husband is just about to turn 24.

Babymoon- I agree, getting away for even a day is great! And like hopefullysoon said, it helps take the stress off :) Hope that you and your hubby have a nice time!
hopefullysoon- Man! That vacation will be so nice for you and your husband! And it will also be so nice to be away during the two week wait, it will make it go by so much faster! And I am hoping that you come home to FANTASTIC NEWS!! That would just be perfect!!
I am on day 9 of Provera, so hopefully just a few short days til I can start round 3 of Clomid! waiting, waiting, waiting....lol
I am 28, will turn 29 in june. My hubby just turned 28 in March. I am hoping to goodness to be pregnant before I turn 30!!

I'm 29, 30 in December and also hoping to be well and truly pg by then!! Husband was 30 in Jan!
I'm having some sharp pains in my right side at the moment... Could be two things, clomid although it's a little early for o pains, or the fact that I'm wearing the jeans that clomid has now made too fat for!! Ll. Don't think it's metformin!
