Has anyone used Repronex or Menopur? Was it successful? I'm supposed to start injections next month and was wondering if anyone has used either of these medications. I'm a little nervous and was hoping to get some insight into the process.

Catherine123,

I used Repronex for 3 cycles and it did not work for me. I used Bravell for my fisrt cycle and I got preg. right away. 3 months following I had a miscarriage. I have not found anthying else since that has worked.

In July I will be doing my first IUI cycle, with injectables. I am really scared regarding that. I had surgary in April on my ovaries, and I cant seem to find anything that has worked. Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I am terribly sorry to hear about your miscarriage. In addition to using Repronex, I'm supposed to take an Ovidral shot for ovulation and then go in for an IUI. I am also supposed to take progestrone supplements after the IUI. Do you have experience with any of this? I will be going in for an HSG this Friday. Lots going on in the next few weeks... I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you happen to know why you need to go through the infertility route?

No problem, that is what we are on here for to get infromation and to help each other for support during the diffuclt time we have with going threw what we are going threw. I have Polycystic Ovarian syndrome. I have a very severe case of it and due to it, it has caused me to be dealing with infertility for almost 6 years now. I have not had to take the progestrone supplements yet, but starting in july I will have to take them. I will be getting the meds on July 5th so it is all going to be interesting again. I have been on just about all fertility drugs and the only one that helped was the ganadtropins shot. It only worked the first time. After that I lost 3 cycles. So I just had surgary on April 17 and they drilled my ovaries nad removed a cyst that was the size of a grapefruit that was full of blood. I dont think the surgary has worked, but now I am going to be trying the IUI thing. Im really scared.

The only shot that I have taken for Ovulation was the HCG shot and that was no fun. It was an 18 gauage inch and a half needle that had to go streight to the muscle. Talk about hurt. uggg... I am going to have to go threw it again... because I know that is part of the IUI process.

Well good luck with everything and let me know how you turn out. If you need anything else... please dont be afraid to ask.

and good luck :)

Hi susan_peet! I'm not sure if you read this anymore, but I wanted to let you know that I had my HSG this morning (it was re-scheduled from last Friday) and everything came back normal. I will go in for a baseline ultrasound in two weeks and then will be starting the injections. Are you still starting your injections next week? How's everything going?
