Can u get pregnant with out having periods

I need to know if u can get pregent if I don't have periods do you still ovulate ! I had my son almost 6 yrs ago and I keep my period for 4yrs and then almost 2yrs ago I stop having one and but ever once in awhile I will ! But for a 1yr now me and my husband have been trying to conceive and we have had no luck ! Is this Becouse of my periods ?
