Clomid, lots of questions ladies

Just wondering what days everyone was taking clomid and any suggestions?
I have a varying cycle usually between 22-35 days, i hear that 3-7 has a higher risk of miscarriage, but I have a shorter period normally only being 5 to six days at the longest, so i was thinking that the 5-9 would be a little too late and cause me to ovulate too late?
What is everyone's input on this? Feel free to correct anything that i have gotten wrong also and share any advice, thanks.
