The Pill and Future Pregnancy

I have been taking birth control pills (Orthotricyclen) for several years now. I have heard from a couple different people that I may not be able to get pregnant in the future, due to the nature of the pill. Is this true? Will birth control pills complicate getting pregnant in the future? If so, is there something anyone recommends as another form of birth control (aside from the condom)? Thanks!

I was pregnant less than a month after getting off Ortho. Granted, it resulted in miscarriage...BUT...my Dr. told me it is a misconception that it will take a long time to get pregnant after getting off the pill....and that I would have likely m/c regardless b/c the cells just weren't formed properly. However, he was sure to mention, that if you had irregular cycles before you went on the pill, they will likely be irregular after...and that is the reason people have trouble conceiving. I hope that helps somewhat!

Hi there. I have to agree with Elizabeth, I have been on the pill for almost 8 years. I stopped taking it 4 months ago and got my BFP this week. I really don't think there is much to worry about.
