Well I had my hsg. I was fine until they filled up the balloon, that was a little like a burning that lasted 20 seconds or so. Then the dye going in was uncomfortable bordering on painful but only lasted about a minute. I just got my BFN for this cycle. Very disappointing, especially after reading all the posts about people getting pregnant. Even my radiology tech while I was having my hsg told me she was pregnant as a result of her hsg after trying 8 years. I am hoping nexy month will be my BFP, FINALLY! But, I feel ready move forward and try something else.
Anyone else out there with "unexplained" infertility? What can you do? What did you do?

julesp - January 21

jenolina- My DH and I suffer from unexplained fertility. I already have one child (prior marriage)but we have been ttc for 14 months. All tests are fine, including HSG. We tried Femara for 3 months at 5 mg per day, now we are in 3rd month of Femara at 10 mg per day(3-7 of cycle) and this will be our 2nd time having an ultrasound done to measure follicles this Friday and I will take a trigger shot over the weekend to realease eggs, we have 36 hours after the shot to fertilize 1 or more eggs. This is also my 3rd month after HSG so I am hoping that with all of these things combined we will have some luck ;-) Unexplained fertility can be so frustrating, part of me wants a test to come back with a problem so I will at least know why! Best wishes to you on your BFP!

I had my HSG on Friday, and I was a nervous wreck. But it wasn't as bad as I imagined. AllI I can recommend is to relax. They even played soft music in the lab to calm my nerves. For me, the most painful I think was when they used the speculum, but everything else was okay. I was able to bear it.

Hi everyone. I'm going to test tomorrow (11 dpo). I hope to come back and post another hsg success story!!

Also, the radiologist said that my hsg was normal (whew!) The GYN said I might have this condition called SIN, but the radiologist said it was 100% normal!!!

Good Evening all, i am 22 yrs of age in the Marine Corps and my husband and i have been ttc for about a almost 2 yrs now, before i here it again...i know im still young BUT there is a problem if i've been ttc for all this time and nothing has come of it, to say the least bit....it is frustrating and heartbreaking. Especially when im the friend always throwing the baby showers or asked to go shopping for baby stuff or be the one who listens to the friend who has to listen to im pregnant again, i dont know if i want to keep this baby"......anyway, i just had to vent for a moment lol. i am scheduled to have an HSG done this Thursday 31 Jan 08. (CD 11) Im excited but nervous at the same time..one part of me wants to knw that everything is okay the other part of me would rather know if we can figure out why conception has been such a difficult task....they said everything was good on my husbands end, so we just have to see whats going on with me. my heart goes out to all you women who are struggling with the same/simliar issues....

I had a HSG and it came back normall but I have not had no luck......... I am going to the doctor to have an evaluation and see if I am going to get some clomid. wish you luck on your HSG

Teeka_Z - January 31

22wantsababy_thank you for your support! i had it (HSG) today! i was the worse pain i have ever experienced......i hope this will be the one and only time i ever have to do that again. However, no regrets it is one step closer to my hopes and dreams coming true
(hopefully). they told me that my cervix is tilted to the right as well (which made it even more painful when they put the catheder in). Im a bit concered about that, i wonder if that may be a problem in TTC. Oh by the way the Doc said everything seem to look good, they used the water based Dye. Well, thank you all for listening... :)

Semper-Fi Teeka_Z - I got out a very long time ago, but I was briefly the youngest in the 2nd MarDiv. My hsg was today; all ok. I'm sorry yours hurt. I was beyond anxious these last couple of weeks - thinking both pain, and iodine reaction because I react to some seafood; honestly thought I'd die or something, really wierd because I'm not at all like that, but this test completely freaked me out. My gyn sent me to a fertility place for it, but when I went, they sent me across the street to hospital for it after I gave them a p sample, and thank 'u know' dh was with me because all I could think about was if things went wrong dh wouldn't even know where I was. I was (am) so angry. I'd never met the doc that did it, but he was beyond excellent. If my insurance covered ivf/icsi, I'd switch to him right now. It didn't hurt at all, and dh got to stay with me through it all. When my emotions are under better control, I'll read more. I'm just adding what I feel when I feel it for those who follow... since I've followed too, and will again.

Hi ladies, went for lab work on 1/29/08 and the nurse stated my progestrone level was very high, i was suppose to get a pregnancy test as well but she forgot to put it on the labs. My ? is Is there a possibility I could be pregnant? I am very scared to take a pregnancy test because I don't want to be disappointed. my cycle isn't due till feb.5.I am praying I will have my BFP soon.

Hi all. I am new here. Long story short, been TTC since March 2005. Got PG on a fluke in Jan 2007, and lost our child to major developmental defects in March 2007, at 13weeks.

So here we are almost 3 years later, no child, and losing hope some days. I had HSG done on 1/31, yesterday... hoping we get PG within the next 6 months. DH is gonna do SA, if we are not PG, next month.

Glad to meet you all.

Tried to get pregnant with my first child for 2 years, had an HSG and was pregnant the next month. Tried again 2 years later for my 2nd child, talked my doctor into another HSG, was pregnant with my 2nd child a month later. We have now been trying for our 3rd child and had the HSG once again a week ago, keeping my fingers crossed as it has worked for both my beautiful son and daughter already. No chlomid, HSG just seemed to clean me out!! Good luck to everyone and i am keeping my fingers crossed it works again for me!!

Hello ladies, I have been reading your responses for the last few month. I had my HSG done this morning and it was very painful. My husband and I have been married for 4 years and I haven't been able to concieve as of yet. We have been through the other tests and everything turned out fin on his behalf and mines thusfar. We are Christians and my husband is a minister and we are believing by faith that after this , I will concieve. I believe there is hope after this because of the many reports that I have read from this website. I do have a little spotting happened but, nothing I can't handle anyway. This will be for a worthing cost in the end. I would love to read more positive responses after the HSG. My menstrual flow started a week ago today so I am ready to go to work after the spotting has stopped. I will update you on the reslts as they come. Blessing to all the ladies that are trying to concieve.
