I started my AF yesterday this was my first IUI done. So I guess it didnt work. I sat down and talked w/my DH and we decided that it would be good to just forget about this for a while and go on with our lives for now. We planned a trip to Mexico in December to go and spend some time with my in-laws this should be nice. I am excited about going and this is probably what i need to relieve some stress that this infertility has caused in our lives. My DH says that he understands that this is just Gods way of letting us know that now is not the time for a baby in our lives but when it is time it will happen and if it never happens then he's ok with that also. I was so sad but mostly for him because i know how important this was for him. But I also have faith in God that this to shall pass and I will be glad that he brought me through all these trials to get me to my blessings. Dont lose faith ladies. Im not, im just going to stop trying to help God and let him give me my baby when he is ready. I probably wont be posting for a while so i wish all of you blessings from heaven.

hi frnds.. i hope u will help me . i had my HSg done and my insurance didnt paid it as it was for infertilty. so can u tell me whether ur insurance paid it or not ?

most insurance companies dont pay for any infertility treatments at all. I know because I work with my health insurance company. I had to pay for my own HSG and Dr visits. I did get some of the visits paid for by my insurance but the dr's office billed them as cyst or unspecified female disorder. I had to talk to the Dr's office about this and they agreed but i did have to pay for alot of stuff like sperm test for my DH, and HSG and blood test. But I dont know alot of health insurances that pay for infertility. Hope this helps.

I had my HSG today. I took 1mgr parasetamol before hand. No pain, no x-rays. It was performed with ultrasound and saline. Ballooncatether was placed in uterus and saline was injected throw. Then the doctor follows with vaginal ultrasound how saline went throw tubes to peritoneal cavity and collected around ovaries (tubes were open). No radiation or artificial contrast media (just liquid steril NaCl)and doctor can check the ovaries, follicle-situation and uterus morphology at same time.

Hey everyone, it's me again, the 22 year old who can't get pregnant. I have my HSG test tomorrow. I'm nervous, but very excited. I have heard that a lot of people get pregnant after the test. I talked with my doctor today and he was very helpful. He said after the test then I can start clomid. Did anyone have to be sedated for the test? They told me to come early and they would sedate me. I don't know if I really need that. Well say a prayer and maybe I'll be writing back with good news : ) Prayers for everyone and best of luck.

Sare, Good luck at you test.. It was not so bad .. A little cramping.. My cervex is still a little sore and I had my HSG oct, 12. I am 3 dpo and waiting to see if I am pregnant.. Did they use the Oil solution to do your HSG? Michelle

Sara - October 20

Had my HSG test today. It wasn't bad at all, and trust me I get nervous when it comes to tests like that. I went in and they did the test and I really haven't had much discharge or cramping. I'm not a very big girl (5'4 and 115lbs.) and I felt bad because they kept having to go back and get smaller intruments. But I guess thats what I'm paying for, my own comfort. I do recommend that you inform them if you have any disomfort. The man who did mine was great and very friendly. The worst part for me was them filling the balloon to keep the catheter in. I had my most cramping then. To answer your question Michelle I don't know what dye they used. It was clear. The thing I'm wondering is how soon I can have sex after the test. They never told me and I ovulate early so I don't want to miss my chance this month to try. I'm already showing "ferning" on my monitor. (I have one of those saliva monitors. They are actually really neat.) So I think I may call the doctor tomorrow and make sure that it's ok to try soon. Well if anyone knows how soon you can "do it" after the test let me know. Everyone stay hopeful and good luck.

Sara, my Dr told me just to wait a day.. So I did, and then we BD like crazy...I take it you test was normal? Thats great.. I wish you the best of luck this cycle.. I am 4 dpo.. I really hope this is our month, I have been trying for a baby for 11 months now...I have still had cramps in my cervix and it has been a week already.. I am on antiobotics so I don't think it would be an infection.. I just feel really sore.. Did any one else feel this a week after their HSG? Michelle

2 months after hsg but miscarried (au-natural pregnancy). 2 months later...baby. (clomid). good luck

Sara - October 20

Michelle, Today I feel more cramping then yesterday, but it is still not that bad. It's more annoying then painful. We have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years now (charting temps, ovulation kits, books...) so I'm hoping that this test did something to help. If I don't get pregnant this month then I am starting clomid next month. I personally would call my dr. if I was you. I would think that the cramping would be gone by now.
It's hard for us because we are so young and it doesn't make sense why we aren't getting pregnant. I'm young and healthy and he's young and healthy and has a good sperm count. Bizzarre. Anyway, I hope your cramping stops soon and I hope this is the month for you.

2yrs... - October 21

I had an HSG test on Sept 30th and had minor cramping for the remainder of the dye. Was really worked up about the cramping but the test is over so quickly there really is nothing to it and the lingering cramps are just like a period. So we've been trying for 2 years and my period is 3 days late! Wish me luck.

I'm having an HSG on Tuesday 10.25 and am very scared. My husband and I are 28 and have been TTC for a year. I really hope this increases my chances and that there is nothing wrong. My mom had endometriosis but only because she had surgery when she was 17. She got pregnant with me right away but it took her 41/2 years to have my sister. My OB/GYN said that he doesn't think that I have to worry about that since my mom had surgery and was considerably older than me (32 with me 36 with my sister).. I hope this clears everything up

To Kristen - let meknow how your goes tomorrow. I am getting mine done Thursday the 27th. I am a huge sissy when it comes to this stuff. I always feel faint just getting my annual pelvic exam. I heard to tell them to insert the catheter and inject the dye slowly, since that apparently causes most of the discomfort. Take lots of advil beforehand and let me know how it went! Good luck!

Ranti - October 25

I had the HSG done after trying for 8 months with no success. After the test I was told that both my tubes were blocked.
Guess what? I got pregnant in the same month I had the test, my OBY said it must have been the therapuetic effect of the HSG.

Keep your hopes up

If anyone is scared, don't be. It's really not all that bad. What I suggest is to take something to calm you down, along with the ibuprophen. I took part of a xanax (.25) ( my husband takes it on occassion, thats why we had it) Because if you get sedated at the place all they give you in 10mg Valium. Any antidepressent or medication that calms you would work just the same I would think. Now I'm not a doctor so I'm not saying to just do this without asking someone. Also make sure that what you take to calm you down is ok to take with the test. I'm sure I would have been fine without it, but it really made my nerves not so bad.
