i had my HSG on may 20, i am now on cd16 and waiting for a positive opk to let me know im ovulating, last month i ovulated around cd14/15 so am thinking the HSG may have delayed it a little. im hoping it works a miracle in helping me fall pregnant.

Hey Babs- I'm right behind you in pregnancy it looks like. I had an HSG done on April 27th and then had a period on day 24 which has never happened. I started my first cycle of Clomid on day 3 and missed my period today. I took a test earlier and has a faint positive. I am glad that other people have had a faint positive. Now I am going to pray that I don't miscarry again- I'm going to call my doctor on Mon to go in immediately since my progesterone has been low. Good luck to all of you- I am praying that you all conceive. The HSG worked twice for me-don't give up. I will be 34 next month and have been trying 5 years to have baby number 2.

I have been reading all of your stories and they are truly inspiring. I am beginning my bloodwork this week with my HSG next week. We have been TTC for about a year, with no luck! I am hoping this is the answer to our prayers!!

Hello all! I am glad I stumbled across this room! I am 31, been trying for 4 years, and had my HSG on 6/10. I had pretty bad pain even though I was loaded with Motrin. It felt like an extremely bad period cramp, but at least I was able to watch the whole thing on the screen. Left tube is completely fine but right had a little blockage, and the radiologist said the pain I felt might have been from him trying to push the dye into that tube, which looked more open when he was done. My cycle started on 6/2 and today is day #13 and according to my ovulation monitor I have not ovulated yet, but usually I at least start by now. Has anyone else experienced a delayed ovulation or period when your cycles are always like clockwork after an HSG? Needless to say hubbie is getting anxious as he has been waiting patiently for me to. Thanks!! :-)

Hi Everyone!
I had my HSG on 6/13. Wow, It was AWFUL----did anyone else have their cervix opened with a balloon???Ouch. Results were great though---no blockages.

Anyway, mild spotting after the test. Day two moderate spotting. Today, almost like a period. Is that normal??

I hope to make a baby soon--- will I ever feel like doing it again?

Austin,
Yes, my doctor had a hard time opening my cervix and used the balloon to do so. Ouch is right. Getting the catheter in was the most painful to me. The dye was a little bit painful but over rather quickly. Kind of like really intense menstral cramps. We have been ttc for 13 months. I had the HSG on 5/27 and had my first positive pg test on 6/15. Thanks to everyone's input on this page. I may not have gone through with it if it were not for your encouragement.

Hi Becka I also had a hsg done on 6 June and am hoping for a postive preg test on 23 June. Did you have any symptoms before you did the test?

May - June 16

Becka, I did mine on 6/7 and the dye went in pretty fast with no pain at all, my questing is how often did you BD? Was it everyday, every other day or what. Wishing you avery happy 9 mths.

I had my HSG today. It was not as bad as I expected. The Doctor and nurse were both wonderful. He explained everything to me as he was doing it. I did have the balloon go into the cervix as well. The only part that made me jump a bit was the dye going in! I was not expecting the feeling that it brought. But if you had a bad stomach ache before, then you should be prepared for it. All in all, not bad. I bleed throughout the day, but it seems to be getting better!!! Fingers crossed for baby now!!
