I've just done my first round of clomid 50mg and I should have been taking 1500mg of metformin but I mainly ever took 1000mg. I always seem to forget one. I've just done a test and it shows possitive should I still take metformin of stop I was only taking it to help concive and for no other reasons. PLEASE can any one help.

Hai Luna, why were you having difficulty in geting pregnent? I am 30, and we are trying for our second child now.I had problems to get pregnent in the first time, due to PCOD, and hypothyrodism. I was put on Metformin 1500mg, and electroxin. Which I was advised to continue till the sixth month of pregnency, and electroxin through out.Better you check with your doctor, if there is any medical conditions- such as insulin resistance- you may have to continue.

Sachu I was put on metformin as I was told I have pcos it's not insulin related in any way. I have been trying for over 2yrs since I had an ecptopic and lost tube.

Luna, what did your doctor say? Metformin is not unsafe during pregnency as long as I know. But make sure whether you need it or not.
