Hey Sarah, I have not heard of that med. I need to check it out though. Let me know what you find out about it. Also, I have not used that monitor either. I ovulate on my own but with my FSH count 12.8 I think my doctor is doing the clomid and trigger tomake sure I do not go without ovulating at all. I think he thinks I am getting old! LOL! No seriously, I amjust doing as I am told. I am not doing the IUI. WE are doing the SEX SEX SEX thing. As a matter of fact, we are trying this weekend. (and tonight) I go tomorrow for ultraound on follies and trigger shot. I will keep you posted. Where are you in your cycle of events?

Hey there Amy, My FSH is around 13. I got the monitor to see if i am ovulating at all. I'll let you know how i like it. We are trying:) But no rush. We are going to try it with just Metformin and nothing else this time. I am on my 7 day of my cycle now and I'll check for ovulation with the CUE II this month. I think the Metformin is working for me because i had a normal 6 day period instead of just one day (like i use to). I've been on Metformin for a month now. I am so excited for you and your big weekend. Let me know as soon as you know! talk soon--S

Hi Girls~ I have been reading all day on your metformin battles. I was on Met for 3 months the first time with alful bathroom problems, I did loose some weight. After 3 mo I was preg my fertility dr said stay on for 6 weeks this was in 2001. Had a wonderful baby boy in May 2002. We now want to get kpreg again. Now I am 33 years old and don't have to many years. Just saw my FE yesterday and he said should not have a problem, but he will probably use the met that I am on 1500 a day, I have been on this for about 3 yrs. I have pcos, along with the clomid. I did not need these two together the first time, but the sucess rate seems to be great the two together.... For those of you that have the bathroom blues, hang in there they do go away.......

Hey Sarah, I swear we are so much alike. My FSH is 12.8 and have been on Metformin for a month. This is my big weekend and I think you should have your big weekend very soon. Lets make this a good month. How old are you? Do you have any children yet?

Gbaby - July 23

yeah Amy...remember I have my 7 month old baby girl and I am 27, from San Diego? I got preg with my baby girl w/ Metformin and clomid. Stayed on Met until 14 weeks preg. 2000 a day. The first time i got preg was with clomid and NO Met. and I miscarried. I am just going to try Metformin this time and no clomid and IUI. I want to see if we can just get preggy w/ metformin and SEX:)
How did the big weekend go? And sore breast? Nausea? :)

Hi everyone, I have had female problems all my life cirvical displasia, at 16, then i stared getting cysts on my overies i went for Dr to Dr they would put me on bc and then take me of and the cysts would come back its was like they didn't care what was casing this problem. I have a miscarage in 2002 and another in 2004. Finally i found a Dr with some heart that found out what was wrong and diagnosed with pcos on sept 2006 . Doc started me on metformin in mid nov. and i became pregnant in Dec i was so excited, But the same thing happend I lost the baby in Feb.2007 I have been on bc ever since the Doc wants to try metformin and clomid and progestrone once I get prenant but I am scared with all the things that can posibly happen and the side affects. My husband and I want a child but i don't want to lose another child. I found a site called www.insulitelabs.com it says that it is a cure for pcos not just a way for you to become pregnant has anyone else heard of this ? Wish all of you the best on conception.

I have great news! I went for an ultrasound today and everything looked great. I am 8 weeks and 1 day when measuring from my LMP but the ultrasound measured 8 weeks and 5 days so that is even better. That means this baby is growing like a weed...or a bean! LOL. I was so happy and even more relieved to see that heartbeat today. It was 175 bpm. THANK YOU GOD! I go back in 4 weeks unless I can come up with some crazy excuse to go in 2 weeks just for mental sanity. My doctor said to come back if I need to and make up some story that is convincable to get in for an ultrasound. God I love him. He knows what I have been through so I think he is going to be very good to me. Just wanted to shall my news. Keep me posted on you and your appointments. I can't wait to hear all about it. My due date is still April 15.

Hi - I had a miscarriage 3 yrs ago and tried for 2 yrs on my own before being referred to a fertility specialist. She diagnosed PCOS and put me on Clomid for about 6 months. My periods were regular, but I didn't get pregnant. She switched me to Metformin (500 mg 3 times a day) about a month ago and then suggested IUI (Inter Uterin Insemination) because we also learned my husbands sperm count is low with low motility. I went in for daily internal ultrasounds and bloodtests to see when I was ovulating and then they did the insemination August 29th - and I'm pregnant. Technically only 2 weeks, but by the pregnancy calendar in my 5th week.
So, keep our fingers crossed - Metformin and IUI did what Clomid and taking my temperature daily couldn't. Now I'm also on a Progesterone suppository (100mg) in the morning and in the evening and still on my metformin for the next 6 weeks.

Hello ladies....Like to share w/ you might be worth researching...I was diagonsed w/ PCOS in 2005 after 9 months of trying to have a baby and nothing was put on Metfromin also..It made me sick and tired so after 60 days stopped taking it....After about a year of trying to have another baby pretty much gave up but I still needed help w/ my hormone imbalance...So I started taking Progestrome Cream and just found out I was 8 weeks pregant finaly after trying for two years...I did some research on Progestome Cream and some clinics use it for fertily....Like I said might be worth doing some more research on it....Good luck to all you ladies...

Amyell428, I'd be interested to know if your Dr took you off Metformin. My Dr's nurse called because they were monitoring my blood to make sure my hormones were on the rise as they should be and she told me to go off of the Metformin and just keep taking the Progesterone twice a day. I called her back and said unless there were reasons why I shouldn't be on it, from the research I'd done myself it significantly lowered my risk of miscarrying again - did your Dr keep you on it? Through the whole pregnancy or just the first trimester?
I have to go in for an ultrasound next week, then I'll be about 7 weeks - I'm just curious.
Thanks, Dana
