Hi Hollymouse, it does take a lot out of you after the 2ww and getting a negative result. One of my colleagues here at work also did the iui and her period came yesterday, she was depressed as this was her second so she stayed home from work. I felt so bad for her and also for you. This is my first iui and during the procedure I experienced warmth and then a little burn but I cannot say that it was painful. The next day I was walking "gingerly" and my husband asked if I was in pain but I just wanted to take everything slow praying that it would not leak back out... sounds silly I know :) As you said, taking the month off will take some of the pressure off and who knows, maybe you will become pregnant naturally. Baby dust and prayers to you.

Hi Harrisongoodall. Sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well; are you sure that you do not have the H1N1?

My husband and I had a touch of it when we went to LA last October and to be honest the symptons were similar to yours and it was indeed the worst flu we ever had.

It is the swine flu that is going around now. If you do not feel better by tomorrow I think that you should call your doctor again.

Hi cdoc10, I trust that all will go well with your iui. Did you inject yourself or did you go back to your doctor? For me, I went back to the doc, coward that I am.

Harrisongoodall. Don't get scared by the name swine flu; it is just a different strain of the flu.

Well....I went to the doctor for my baseline appointment and when the technician started the ultrasound I looked over at the screen and I saw HUGE cysts. The technician was in shock at the amount of cysts and the size of them and told me that she'd never seen that many before. It was very painful (I've been in pain for a while now...I just wasn't sure why until today) and it took forever for her to count and measure the cysts. Follicles are suppose to shrink down, but mine actually grew. When I did my ovulation shot, I had lots of follicles, but only one was mature at 15.5mm. But my cysts are between 29mm. and 35mm. and my ovaries are huge. When the technician brought the results out to the nurse, she was shocked. The nurse called and told me the doctor was "baffled" and had never seen this many or this size. She also said "we don't have a handle on you and we need to get one and get this under control." Soooo...needless to say, I don't get to start a new cycle. I have to take birth control pills for a month and hope that the cysts go away, but b/c they are so large, it may take two months of BCP for them to go away. I told the nurse that after I left the doctor's office, I was in immense pain with shooting pains across my lower back and down my leg and she is calling something in for me, altho I am not a fan of strong meds like that...I may end up taking them! I have been put on partial bed rest and cannot pick anything up...for fear that my ovaries will twist onto themselves and I would have to have surgery to repair them. And in case y'all didn't know this yet, it's a . I'm looking forward to this pain going away and to the next cycle, which will hopefully be in Feb. Thanks for listening to my ramblings and I am still sending to the rest of you!

Hi Harrisongoodall, I hope that you will soon get over this flu. Time is really creeping along and with the weekend coming up, I definitely have to keep my mind occupied or I will keep looking at the pregnancy test box :)

Took pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. :-( So sad and empty. This whole process takes so long, have to prepare myself to go through this all again next month. Keep wondering "What if?" What if I did the Ovidrel too late and ovulated after the IUI? What if DH and I could have had more back up sex after IUI, but he had to go out of town for 3 days? <Sigh> What ifs aren't going to make me pregnant. Will just wait for AF and then prepare for IUI #3.
Hollymouse, wbyfaith, babysprinkles - guess we are all in the same boat again - going through the same cycles - hope you all get many mature follicles!
Adoptedbylight - WOW - I mean WOW - I can't get over your story. Must be so painful with those cysts. Can't imagine how frustrating it is to gear up for another cycle only to have to go on BCP to wait for cysts to go away. So so sorry. Many prayers for you - babydust to all - good luck with your meds and lets see those follicles grow! Keep us posted on your progress...
