O-Baby: I am an English teacher, certified to teach grades 7-12. I teach 7th and 8th, and have been doing so for nine years. As a result, I know not to take their nasty comments personally; they are just pimply faced city kids who take their anger out on everyone. That comment made me breathe though... I am doing okay, staying optimistic as I wait for my big O-day (ovulation, that is ;). As for the aneurysm, I still need to get some more tests done, but they are pretty sure it's behind my left eye...
Your period, O-Baby, was it extremely heavy in the past, or is it just on the lighter side this time?
So, the Metoformin- do you inject it? Also, over how long of a period of time on clomid did those of who gained weight accumulate those pounds?
Another question for everyone- do your doctors have you do post-coital tests? I did one my first two rounds of clomid, and I know I will do one for the next few rounds I take.
I am ready for this weekend to be here! It has been a loooonnnnng week.

Morning all
+ opk this morning! Yey for not happening while we are away with the family! Just need them to stay put for 12 hours so we can be done work and on our way to the hotel! Fingers crossed!
Jac metformin is taken by tablet, I take mine with dinner but I'm on a pretty low dose, as you get on higher doses, you take them with each meal.
An interesting side effect, well I hope it's a side effect! I'm beyond vague at the moment, like almost reported my car stolen cause I had forgot where I parked it! Lol!
Angel what cd are you today? Happy anniversary!

Babymoon - YAY to having your positive opk! Good luck this month!
Jac1019 - Metformin is just an oral pill that you take. I take it 3 times a day right after each meal. And I gained 9 lbs on clomid over accumlative of 4 months on it. And I haven't done or heard of a post-coital test before. What is it?
ANGEL - If you're only 10dpo then you'll probably expect AF in the next 4 days or so BUT hopefully those pains are pregnacy and not AF on the way :) My fingers are crossed for you!

O-BABY - I find AF for me is a lot lighter when on provera then it is when I get it naturally, so don't worry :)

So I was talking to my sister, who also has PCOS and is currently 5 months pregnant. And she said I shouldn't count spotting as the first day of AF, which is what I thought my dr had said too. So I'm counting today as day one instead of yesterday and will be on clomid starting saturday. . . Yay!! So glad this cycle is FINALLY starting!!

Hey Everyone
I feel like i'm so outta the loop, i've been so crazy busy lately but its so nice to hear everyone is doing well and staying postive.
Just to give you a little update, my first cycle of clomid only lasted 22 days and when i had blood work done it showed that i ovulated YAY but didn't get pregnant. My doctor said i should take clomid every other month because it lasts in ur system for 2 cycles sooo i didn't take clomid this month but i had a natural 6 day AF HALLELUJAH and tomorrow will be day 23 so i'm going to get bloodwork done to see if i ovulated if 'm not pregnant this month i'll take clomid pills again day 5-9. Has anyone else heard about this month on month off thing??? My doctor said it allows a 12 month chance rather than just 6 months...
Anywoo... hopefully we will all be pregnant soon, i'm seriously ready to try Artificial insemination or in-vitro because this waiting game is killing me!!
babydust to you all

Angel- Yeah I also hope that you are having pregnancy symptoms instead of AF!
jac1019- Well you handled that situation really well with your direpectful student. But...I know that some kids take their anger out on everyone else, but they need to learn and they should already know especially at those ages that it is wrong to speak to people like that.
I have gained 12 pounds in TWO months!!! And I didn't really have a period before the first time I took Provera two months ago. But since on Provera, yes this time is a bit lighter.
Babymoon- Congrats on the positive opk! Hopefully you hit your window and will have great news in a couple of weeks! :)
Going to take my first Clomid pill tomorrow, woohoo! lol I started Metformin today...noticed it made me a bit dizzy, other than that haven't noticed anything else. And I am on 500mg once a day.

Good morning!
Jac1019 – What is post-poital tests? Also never heard of them.
Babymoon – SO excited for you :D Take full advantage of that +opk. I’m CD36 today. Seems my temp has dropped a bit today ? So not feeling very hopeful, had cramps all night last night after getting into bed, not bad ones, more like warm cramps in my uterus.
Hopefullysoon – I think AF might be expected now, I am 11dpo (I think) but according to my bbt’s if I’ve ever ovulated in the past my luteal phase is around 11/12 days. Your sister is right I think, full flow is the first day of your cycle. Good luck with the Clomid ?
O-baby – good luck with the clomid too. Let me know how the metformin goes. I have insulin resistence so would love to know if it helps with the weight.
I’m quite nervous about taking clomid again, mainly cause I was so bloated and put on so much weight. Also my doc said if this does not work I must up the dosage... now I wonder if I just call his offices for a script or have to go see him, work is not going to be impressed with al this time I have to keep taking off.... they must wonder what I keep doing at the doctor lol
Have a great day all!

Ok well, just went to the bathroom and my CM has some slight streaks of blood in, also having some major cramping at the mo :( So I dont think clomid worked, well not for lengthening my luteal phase or shortening my cycle, its weird, the last few cycles i've had have been around 37 day, so according to FF I am due tomorrow / Sunday, so feels pretty spot on again. Hoping the clomid day 2-6 shortens things a bit and makes me ovulate... So I'll prob be starting it then on Sunday / Monday depending on flow.
Oh well... was even gonna go buy a test today just to check. Always next month hey :)

angel and hopefullysoon: a post coital test is an interesting one.... so, my doctor estimates about when I should be nearing ovulation based on the day I start clomid. Based on the estimation, I make an appointment to come in on a morning for a post coital test and ultrasound. For post coital test, preparation begins the night before the appointment. My husband and I are instructed to "do it" (like me students would say). The next morning at the doctor's office, they give me what is similar to a pap smear and then put the specimen under a microscope. They check to see the relationship between his sperm and my cervical mucous. If his sperm appear immobile, it's an indication the my cm is hostile to it, because my husband's count and motility are high. That is what led to last month's IUI. My doctor told me that clomid can lead to hostile cm, so they give me one every month that I am on clomid.
Oh, and hopefullysoon- my doctor always tells me to count cd 1 of AF on my first day of heavy bleeding as well, like your sister says. :)
Hi J-Rafih: glad to hear you ovulated! Good luck this month.

J-rahif - I've never heard of doing one month on and one month off before recommended from a doctor. However that is what my sister did, only because her husband was out of town a lot for work so she of course didn't take it on those months and some of the months she was off of clomid she did ovulate on her own, but not all if them. I definitely don't think it's a bad idea, good luck at your blood test! My fingers are crossed that it confirms you ovulated!!
Angel - everytime I need my clomid dosage increased my doctor just faxes the new script over toy pharmacy for me so I don't have to go see him again, hopefully yours will do the same for you! I'm sorry that AF showed up, but my hopes are up for you for this upcoming cycle! And all the side effects from all of this, such as weight gain, will all be worth it once we all have a little baby in our arms!
Jac1019 - thanks for the info on that test!
O-BABY yay to your first day of clomid! I'll be right behind you, I'm starting tomorrow. I can't wait!!

Jac1019 - that test sounds amazing! We don't hav fertility specialists where I live so I won't get that, kinda sux not knowing I'd things r hostile towards each other in there...
Hopefullysoon - still no AF, just cramps and pink brown cm. Ddi says tomm so will see. Off out for a day and night with the "inlaws" so hope it doesn't start today.
Hav a gr8 weekend all x

By the way I'm 36 no children actively ttc took first round of clomid days 4-8 of cycle & also taking metformin (glucophage) went to doctor on Friday which was day 14 & had 3 large follicles, so my dh & I have been busy since yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else has gained weight with metformin & clomid. I have gained like 5lbs in the last 2-3 wks. Good luck to all! Thanks

Ttc2 - Hello!AF stands for aunt flow, otherwise known as ur period :-) I've only done 1 month of clomid, put on a lot of weight :-( Metformin should help u lose it but not everyone responds that way. Good luck hope this is ur month!
I started spotting yest :-( so cd1 possibly today and start clomid tomm. Will go buy some opks, just cried so much yest, stupid period. The doc did tell me even with 1 mature follicle and BD the right time there's still only a 6% chance of falling pregnant. Will keep trying.

ttc2- I gained 12 pounds on Clomid the first two months! :( Not happy about that! But like angel said, Metformin should help, and she is right....everyone response differently. I just started taking Metformin Thursday, so one pound down so far, not sure if that isn't just water weight though.
Angel- I am so sorry girl! I know that is highly disappointing! Hang in there though, we will hopefully all be pregnant sooner or later. Hopefully sooner than later though!
AS for me, well I will be on my 3rd day of Clomid today and my fourth day of Metformin. Can't wait until I am through with the Clomid and start BD!! lol Fingers crossed for all of us this cycle!! :)
