Hi ladies! I am 12dpo, 1st round of Clomid complete. Been having really bad nausea for about a week as well as headaches, and I threw up this morning. I've also had insomnia, but I'm not sure if all of this is severe PMS brought on by Clomid, or what? Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I took an htp and it was a BFN. :( My DH and I have been trying to conceive for years without success, and the whole process of trying to get pregnant gets incredibly overwhelming! And all around me all I seem to see are pregnant women or women with babies. It takes quite a toll! The only comfort I have is reading your posts...seeing that I'm not alone.

Hi Mommy Verde13! Welcome! I think one of two things has happened, one, you are pregnant, but the hormones are not yet strong enough to register on a hpt, or two, you are not pregnant. Unfortunately, Clomid is bad about imitating pregnancy symptoms. I do wish you the best of luck in your baby journey! Let us know how it works out!

I know what you mean about seeing pregnant women everywhere. I just cannot seem to avoid them. I know they cannot help it by any means, nor do I expect them to, but it seems to serve as a constant reminder of what they have and what I cannot get.

Right now I am in the midst of my 2ww, 9dpo. At first I felt confident, listening to my body, believing them to be pregnancy symptoms, but now I have nothing but cramping and all confidence has diminished.

Maybe my turn will be next month.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to those who are new to the forum! I just want to encourage everyone to hang in there! I know it can be difficult get a BFN every month! My husband and I have been trying naturally for a quite a while now, we have an apt scheduled next Thursday to start the Clomid. I am really anxious and excited at the same time. I have high hopes, but I know that Clomid may or may not work. It is nice to have people to talk to that can give me advice and encourage me.

We had dinner with friends the other night. They are expecting their second baby any day now! I am happy for them, but we all know how hard it is to be around pregnant women. Anyways, we told them how we have been trying for a while and no luck. The husband of the this couple said, "You should do what we do, whatever it is it works, I have gotten my wife pregnant the first month of trying both times." I wanted to reach over and choke him. Does he not think if it was that easy for us , we would be pregnant by now...geesh. I know he didn't mean any harm or to be insensitive, but it really blows my mind what some people will say. I know that I am extra sensitive right now, which doesn't help. Anyways, just needed to vent for a while :)

Please keep me in your prayers, I am nervous about starting Clomid and worried about it not working. I am trying not to put all my eggs in this basket.

BABY DUST AND PRAYERS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!

Hi crmr2008,

Thanks for the encouraging words. It is so nice to hear stories from other people who are going through the same struggle and can really relate and appreciate how hurtful some comments can be, especially from people who really don't understand. I am just started on my third cycle of Clomid and like you I am hopeful that it will work. It is hard some days to stay positive and I guess we all have our good days and bad days. I wish you and anyone else reading this the best of luck. I have an appointment myself next week to get some other test results so wish me luck! Take care and hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi everyone! Im new to this forum and you all have been so helpful. DH & I have been trying to get pregnant naturally for going on 2 years. About 4 months ago my doctor put me on 50 mg Clomid days 5-9. Each time I had to take progesterone to start cycle. I completed 3 rounds at 50 mg with no ovulation. I am currently on my first round of 100 mg days 5-9. I am on day 10 right now. I feel like there is no hope but I know there is. Thank you ladies for sharing your stories. I will keep you posted. Baby dust to everyone!!

Amanda1986 - February 3

Welcome, Julie!
I am in the EXACT same boat as you! My DH & I have been trying naturally for a couple years as well and 4 months ago I was put on 50mg clomid days 5-9. January was my first month starting 100mg clomid. I am currently 14 days past ovulation and so far all tests have been negative :( I am expecting AF to show her ugly face around Tuesday. I will keep you posted, best of luck to you!!

Julie0813 - February 3

Amanda, our stories are very similar. Hopefully 100 mg is the trick for both of us. Also, you could be pregnant now and AF may never show her ugly face. =] Lets keep each other updated! Have a good day.

Hello ladies :)
Well...AF showed her face on Friday...but I had been spotting 5 days prior. I spoke with my drs office about it and she said the spotting was an indication that my progesterone level was low and she put me prometrium. Has anyone else had this issue? Any information on it? Also she changed me to femara and took me off clomid...so I hope you all dont mind if I stay in the group because I love the support here.

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday :) I had my doctor's appointment yesterday to be put on Clomid. I took my last pill of Provera today, so AF should show up Monday and I will start taking Clomid on day 5! I am nervous and excited all of the same time! My doctor is also having me do a pelvic ultrasound just to check everything out. If I am not pregnant in 3 months she wants me to do some more invasive tests to see if there is anything going on. My DH has not been tested either. We decided he would get tested if we are not pregnant in 3 months. Also, just a tip, if your DH does have low sperm count, put him on a good multivitamin. I hear that that can help a lot!!!

My doctor put me on 50mg, she said if that does not work, next month she will up my dosage. How many of you have ovulated on 50mg? Thanks for the support!

BABY DUST TO ALL!! Have a super weekend!

SAL1984 - February 8

Well it seems AF has arrived! Though I am very disappointed, my doctor has now added Metformin to my Clomid regimen. I am excited and hopeful this will work. Is anyone else on Metformin? I'm not really sure what it's designed to do, but will try anything at this point.

crmr--I am on 50 mgs of Clomid and ovulate well, but for some reason my body is still not doing what it's supposed to do which is why my doctor prescribed me Metformin. This will now be my 7th round on Clomid. He wants to keep me on Clomid because it does indeed make me ovulate, we just need a little push and Metformin will hopefully be the solution!

leviemma - February 9

Hi everyone, this is my first time to post but I've been reading these websites for a couple years now. DH and I have been married 3 years and have been actively trying to conceive all along. My obgyn put me on 3 rounds of 50g clomid back in May 2011 to no avail, upon which I took time off trying. A fertility specialist found my prolactin levels to be too high and prescribed Bromocriptine in May 2012 and I conceived in June, had a m/c at 12 weeks in Sep and a chemical pregnancy in November 2012. The fertility specialist said my Prolactin levels had stabilized but my Thyroid levels were borderline high, so she put me on Synthroid. Hope this is our yea. Sprinkling babydust on everyone!

hope1824 - February 9

Welcome Leviemma.
I am also taking synthroid due to hypothyrodism. My regular doctor did not want to put me on it but the fertility specialist said it was necessary as the optimum level for conceiving is slightly overactive. Good luck.

crmr- I also ovulated on 50 mg clomid one month, and not another month so not sure if that helps you. Everyone is different.

I had an appt this week myself. Starting IUI next month and Femera. Any advice?

Baby dust to all. Have a great weekend!

leviemma - February 9

Hi Hope1824, how kind of you to write. I was not monitored while on clomid, so I'm not sure what was happening. But I believe the problem was high Prolactin levels (a hormone that the body usually produces when breastfeeding, so my hormones kept tricking my body to think its already pregnant). I conceived the very cycle that was corrected after tracking my ovulation (clear blue digital) and pinpointing the surge -used preseed too. My fertility specialist is not proactive so i'm not scheduled for any particular procedure, just the synthroid meds and baby dancing. At 6DPO, I'm on my 2WW.
I haven't done IUI or Femera but I've read elsewhere how effective it can be. Next month should come pretty fast for you, lot's of baby dust in the meantime and have a great weekend!

kittymom - February 12

mtaylor829: how is your cycle on Femara going? I did my second round of Clomid 100mg on CD 3-7, and my symptoms were worse this time so I'm curious about switching to Femara next time if needed.

I went to a fertility clinic last week, and my new doc said that the YI I had last month was probably from the Clomid drying me out. I also had insomnia and hot flashes worse than the first round. As much as I hate Clomid, it does seem to work because the u/s showed I had some good follicles growing. She then told me to take the trigger shot over the weekend and did an IUI yesterday, and now I'm on the 2ww. I just wish there weren't so many annoying side effects to Clomid.

One other thing my doc noticed was my uterine lining was too thin (probably from Clomid), so she put me on Estrace(estrogen)pills twice a day. Has anyone been on Estrace before or had a lining that was too thin? I'm kind of confused by it because I feel like estrogen pills are the opposite of Clomid, but I trust my doc and am sure she knows what she's doing. I just wish I didn't have to take so many drugs!

I hope you're all having a good week!

SnowAngels - February 12

kittymom: Yes! I've been on an estrogen pill twice a day, last month and this month for thinning uterine lining. I was confused right away too. I've felt no side effects of it. Hopefully it helps you out! GL!
