hopefullysoon & all others - I have checked with my doctor on it and he did say after the birth of my daughter that one more c section would be fine, but after that he reccomends me to get my tubes tied bc it is too risky to have more than 3 c sections. So maybe I just need to find another doctor, or maybe he had a reason for saying what he said. I have had the same OB/Gyn with both of my kiddos, so I would think he knows about my body and what he thinks is right for me. I did not say that to seem rude or anything, I was just sharing the information that was shared with me. I have been told the same thing by other ladies who have had c sections as well, that doctors dont like to do more than 3. Belive me I will not just take something just to be taking it. Im not that type. I have done all of my research and have talked to nurses about it as well. I do understand and know that it does not just "make you have twins". That is not what I was meaning that I thought I would just Try Clomid Just to Have Twins. I am here looking for advice and support as all others are. I have issues with ovulation and my cycles just as well. I am sorry if you or any other woman can not have babies or get pregnant without the use of fertility drugs. But should you talk down on what myself and my husband has decided to do to help our chances of having another baby? No, and I dont find that fair at all. We had our issues with pregnancy (it was 6 years before we got pregnant with our daughter, with the help of our fertility doctor). Maybe because I am not letting the stress of trying to get pregnant consume me day in and day out I am being too lose with it. I do understand how it feels. I was there 6 yrs of each month getting a negative, going to see doctors who told me there was nothing wrong bc I got pregnant with my son naturally.

Dont worry ladies, I am leaving. Sorry to upset any of you, just thought I could come and share my story and journey as well. Guess not because I have gotten pregnant both ways naturally and with the help of fertility doctors and treatments. I guess since my son was a natural I am not welcome. Good luck to you all. :)

mzmom-

It has nothing to do with you already having children, or the fact that you had any of them naturally. You just made it sound like you were taking clomid to try and have twins, and that is why I was bothered by it. I mean you are more than welcome here and more than welcome to share your story. But it just seemed to me that you were rather loose with the subject. I am sorry that you have had problems conceiving in the past and now. And I am sorry if I misunderstood what you were trying to share. You are more than welcome to come back :) We can start over, start from the beginning of your story, I would love to hear, and understand what you are going through. Again, sorry if you felt ganged up on, it is just not an easy or light subject for any of us. And apparently you know how we feel too, if you yourself had trouble conceiving for 6 years and now. So come on back :)

hopefullysoon-

Yes ma'am, I sure have gained weight on clomid, 8 stinkin lbs!! GRRR! I myself am built thick anyways, I played basketball all through high school and have always been muscular. But I developed high blood pressure at about 19. I have been on meds for my blood pressure since I was 24, so I retain water like crazy! I have recently been put on water pills to take the fluid (pressure) away from my arteries and heart. So the slightest things make me gain weight... :( But you are so right, all the side effects will so be worth it when we become pregnant. :)

How is everyone feeling?

J-Rafih - February 25

Hi Everyone,

SO last night I took my 4th out of 5 clomid pills on a 5-9CD and I had my first hot flash, It wasn't too too bad but defintely a little uncomfortable. I've also noticed that I seem to be having more indigestion and gas lately I don't know if that's a side effect or not. I decided not to research the side effects because I don't want to start believing things are happening that aren't. 2 more days til the baby dance again haha

hopefullysoon - February 25

J-Rafih I also have noticed more gas lately, ever since starting all of this. Not sure why though. Good luck on your baby dance in two days!!

O-BABY hopefully those soft cups did the trick for you! Where did you buy them? I ordered some pre-seed lubricant online and it just came in the mail. I'm going to use that this cycle since clomid does a pretty good job of drying up my mucus. This lube is baby making/sperm friendly and should help the sperm to travel where they need to be. I'm thinking of using the soft cups as well this month!
I took another pregnancy test again today. It's now 13 days since my positive ovulation test, so I know it could still be a little early to test but it was negative. I'm expecting AF any day now :( I was really hoping this would be the month. If I get my AF by tomorrow, I'm going out and having a few drinks. I'm going with friends to a pub anyways but this time I'll actually be able to enjoy a few drinks, and maybe drink some misery away lol. Since it'll be my only chance to before the new round starts and I'm back on clomid and ttc again.

I'm still praying my AF doesn't come though and that the test I took this morning was wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was right unfortunately. Oh well, small steps right? I ovulated this past cycle and that is something in itself that I should be celebrating. I'm just really hoping it happens in these next three months because after that I will have been on clomid for 6 months and thats when my doctor wants to get back together to dicuss other options if I'm not pregnant by then. So fingers crossed!

J rafih so sorry for the confusion with ur doctor. Some ppl just don't realize our struggle, even doctors! Have u checked into seeing a new doc? But I know how dramatic all that can be. I'm wishing u luck =).

Mzmom.... welcome =). I haven't been on in a few days. Best of luck with the clomid journey. I really hope u see ur bfp this month!

abg1989 - February 25

Jac019...here's to multiplying follicles...Lol! I love that. Ur gonna get ur bfp this month! I know it!

Obaby...I realllllly hope the softcups work for u. I'm keeping my fingers crossed =).

Afm.... I've not been on in a few days. As u all know I'm supposed to start clomid in may or june..... well, I need advice! Some bad stuff happened, both my sisters and their husbands got mixed up in some bad stuff and they're in jail. Therefore, I'm watching over my nieces and it looks like I will have custody of them for atleast 6 months. Idk if I can handle the stress while ttc. I reallllllly want to start asap, but I feel like I wouldn't be giving them all the love they deserve and need right now. What's ur opinion? Honestly, I think they'd love to be a part of my pregnancy.....

abg1989 - February 25

Hopefullysoon.... I hope the test was wrong too!! =) I'm wishing u the best and know we r in this fight with u girl.

hi all. have been reading clomid forums for a while now, and found yours to be most friendly and up to date. ive been reading your messages every day for the last 3 weeks now, and feel like im spying, so thought id better share........been ttc for 10/11 months now and nothing. after reading some messages on this site, now realise this is,nt as long a time as i thought. had a visit to my docs a couple of months ago, due to the fact my cycles started to get longer?? started off at 29 days, then went to 33 for a few months, then ended up at 41 since? had 2 sets of bloods done at different times of the momth (one being the cd21) and have come back fine. doctor not doing further tests until after 12 month of ttc, and has proscribed CLOMID in the mean time. never heard of it until researching the net, thats when i stumbled across you guys. instructions were to take it for 5 days starting cycle day 2-6. (50mg). i took my last pill 13 days ago.(i was lucky enough not to have any side effects whilst taking clomid. was expecting hot flashes like some of you) im on cycle day 19 now. i have a question.. whilst taking clomid, are monthly cycles the same lenght as before? or can they regulate. i mean if i have to wait 6 weeks every time, im in for a long wait before i can test :(
i know i havnt been trying to concive for as long as some people on here, but we all have to start our journey some where right?, who knows, it may be that im the only one left on here in another 2 years, lol.
wish you all the best X

abg1989 - Wow, that's a tough position to be in, but those little neices of yours are lucky that they have you to rely on. Hopefully there doing okay with the transition. As for what should you do? My personal opinnion is to start taking the clomid when you were going to already in May or June. The reason I say that is because even on clomid it still might take you a few months to get pregnant so you might not even be pregnant while you're taking care of your nieces. I know it's a lot of added stress but at the same time because you'll be busy with them it might help take your mind off ttc and oddly relax you're body to help aid with conceiving.

Also it's unfair to you that you have to put your plans on hold because you're family screwed up, and I don't think that's right and you don't want to end up resenting them for making you delay what you really want. That's just my opinnion though, not sure if it's the right one but hopefully it helped a little?

hopefullysoon - February 26

mumstheword - WELCOME!!! I'm glad you decided to join our group! You're lucky that you didn't really get any side affects! And yes don't worry clomid will regulate your cycle because it's regulating when you ovulate and theoretically you should get AF 14 days after you ovulate. So if you're usuing ovulation test strips to see when you ovulate that will give you an approx date of when you'll get a period. Keep in mind though that when you get a positive 'o' test that you ovulate anywhere from 24-48 hours later so you could get AF anywhere from 14-16 days after you get your positive ovulation test. But at least you know you won't be waiting 6 weeks!

For ex: this month I got my positive 'o' test on cd16 so currently I'm on cd30 and should be getting AF probably today or tomorrow. Hope all of that helped!

Congrats on starting your journey with clomid, and I hope it works for you!

thanX for the advise hopefullysoon. will bear that in mind for next month. i got my slap in the face last week, when both my work collegue, and my cousin found out that they are pregnant. how is it people around you seem to fall pregnant when your ttc? tut. s,pose good news for my cousin though. she has been ttc for 14 mnth. had every test done (she has pcos), after she had the dye swilled round her tubes she fell pregnant a week late-naturaly, which gives hope to any one with pcos :) as for my work collegue, she already has two young children, and didnt want anymore....typical. guess were surounded by pregnant ladys all the time, we just notice it more because were ttc. again thanx for your advise hopefullysoon. and hopefullysoon it will be you :)

hopefullysoon - February 26

mumstheword - Thank you so much for that story about your cousin! That gives me hope because I also have PCOS and I am going this upcoming cycle (if I'm not pregnant right now) to get my tubes flushed out as well and I'm really hoping that will do the trick! That just gave me a lot of hope!

And don't worry we all feel your pain about hearing that another person you know or that is close to you is pregnant. You want to be happy for them but at the same time I get upset, jealous, angry, sad, and any other emotion I've missed. But we'll all get through it and we'll all have a child to call our own. I like to say it's not matter of "if" we can but "when" we can. I have faith it'll happen for all of us!

abg1989 - February 26

Hopefullysoon....u have a good point. Their mistakes shouldn't keep me from my dreams and it may take 6 months if even then to succeed in getting pregnant. Thanks for the advice =). Barry and I talked it over and no matter what....we are going to start the clomid. And I think ur right that being with them will give me something to do and take some stress away from ttc.....they will be there to keep me company in my 2ww. Thanks!

jac1019 - February 26

Mumstheword! Welcome, and good luck!I experienced that same pain every time I find out that someone is pregnant.

Abg1989- wow... you have your hands full! I think you should go through with the clomid while you have the kids. By the time you start the clomid, you guys will have a routine down, and as someone mentioned earlier, it will be a good distraction.

I finished my 2nd round of clomid today. I have seconds thoughts about this cycle only because how much stress I have been under due to my father's health. He had a brain aneurysm on the 13th and has been in the hospital since. Originally his odds weren't very good, but now he is doing really well. In fact, he was just moved out of the Intensive Care Unit Yesterday to a more intermediate level of hospital care. With the stress from the last two weeks, it's no wonder my 1st cycle didn't work, and I am afraid how it will impact this cycle.

Really, all I want to do tonight is have a good bottle of wine. The whole thing, but I am not sure if it's okay to do while on clomid... I normally don't drink during my cycle, except for the first day of AF (lol), but tonight I would love to just go kick back with some girlfriends. I actually just researched and it said alcohol doesn't interfere with alcohol, but still...I'm weary :/

I hope we hear some of you ladies are pg soon!!! This board needs some good news.

jac1019.....understand what your going through with your dad. my mam had a brain anyurism on the 14th oct. she had the "coiling" done to fill the anyurism. it was a bad time for us all, wasnt sure she was going to pull through, but she did and was discharged exactly after 4 weeks, and is doing realy well. no after care was put in place for her. she has a slight speech prob, but nothing major.(is recieving help for it). she was then re admitted on xmas eve as she had developed blood clots, which we asume was from her op, so watch for symptoms when he,s home. on top of everything she,s gone through she has now been diagnosed with breast cancer. it was only discovered after they were searching for her blood clots, so quite fortunate they found it early. talk about stress!!! ive had my fair share since oct, like you say,, no wonder were not concieving. to survive an anyurism, you can survive anything. im sure your dad will be fine, X X X

hopefullysoon...... i have everything crossed for you :) fingers, toes...
