janelle christine-

Hi:) I am sorry to hear that you had a miscarrage, that would be devastating for sure. But I am glad that you found a different doctor and he is actually helping you! I too wasn't ovulating and my periods were WAY irregular. I just started my 2nd cycle of Clomid 50mg. They first started me out on provera to get my period started and so far this month has been pretty good. I guess I will find out if I will ovulate soon enough :) Were you started on provera or anything like that to start your period? And I know your doctor said that ovulation test were a waste of money, but I have found them to be a stress reliever...lol They put my mind at ease just to know that I am ovulating on my own. :) Well like I wish all these ladies on here and myself....I hope we are all pregs soon!

I meant ovulating with that help of Clomid...lol Not on my own.

Obaby
When I started the 50mg of clomid, I did take progesterone pills to bring on a period. I didn't take anything with the 100mg though. When I did my first go around with clomid, I NEVER got a positive ovulation test. Now my new doctor(and also a book I'm reading) tells me that clomid can mess with your test results, showing a false positive. With that in mind, I decided to chart my temperature instead. I found it to be the most effective method for me.

Do you not have blood test done at the doctor 14 days after your period? That way you know for sure that you are ovulating :) I have never kept up with my temp, maybe I should start :) What book are you reading?

abg1989 - February 17

Janelle...I have also heard that the clomid can give u a false result!

As for everyone else how are you??

I feel the same as most of you. It seems like everyone I know is pregnant or has a child, and it kills me. They honestly do not understand HOW HARD it is for some of us to become pregnant :(.

janelle christine - February 17

I don't go every month to the doctor for blood tests. The book I'm reading is "the everything getting pregnant book"

hopefullysoon - February 17

Janelle Christine - if you can go for blood tests every month I highly recommend it. That is how your doctor confirms if you are ovulating and if not then they know they need to increase your dosage. How is your doctor monitoring if you ovulate then if your not going for testing?

SooOOoo... found out some interesting news yesterday, i have a new gynecologist becaue my went off on maternity leave (I know how ironic) anyways, my new doctor informs me that SURPRISE i don't ovulate, so I have been trying for 2 years every month and I don't ovulate, WOW how frustrating, At least i know now what the problem has been but seriously?? It took two years to figure that out. The new doc said I should be counting day 1 of spotting as my CD 1 and that i'm bascially the poster child for something call antiovulatory cycles. Apparently his wife had the same issue and she went on clomid and they have twins at home... So oddly enough after the phone call from the doctor i started spotting which means Monday I start my first round of Clomid... SUPER EXCITED!! I'll keep you posted!!

J-Rafih - That is awesome that you finally know what is wrong and that you can start "actually" trying. I'm shocked though that you're doctor didn't figure that out sooner. The first test my doctor sent me for was blood tests on day 3 and day 21 of my cycle to see if I was ovulating or not, then that is when I got diagnosed with PCOS (poly cystic ovarian sydrome).

My friend also had antiovlation and on her first month of clomid she got pregnant, so good luck! I hope it works the same for you! Keep us all posted, can't wait to hear the good news!

I go in this morning for my blood test to confirm if I ovulated this cycle. I should have my results my late afternoon. I'm really hoping that they confirm that I did. If I did ovulate then I can test a pregnancy test in 8 more days!

Hopefully Soon

Thanks for the story about your friend, that makes me really excited, I don't want to get my hopes up because it has been so many months of disappointment but this new doctor seemed really confident. The first round of blood work I had done was on a perfect 28 day cycle which I told my doctor NEVER happens and she said I did ovulate that month.. so I think that's what threw it off but still I told her it wasn't typical but she didn't really listen, I think she was jsut so consumed with the fact that she was having her own baby she didn't really care to listen to me!

J-Rafih-

That is SUPER exciting news for you!! Not the not ovulating part, but starting clomid!! YAY!! SO happy for you! And I too did not ovulate, and now after being on clomid I do! So, I hope it works for you, like it has me. Keep us posted :)

hopefullysoon - February 19

So I finally got my blood test results back from this morning. Today felt like forever waiting for them! They confirmed that I ovulated! 8 more days and I can take a test!

O-BABY - February 19

Hopefullysoon-

That is sooooooo EXCITING!! Congrats on ovulating! YAY!! I can't wait to hear the results from your HPT, I hope it is positive for you :)

jac1019 - February 19

J-Rafih: I am by no means saying, "Yay! You're not ovulating!" but instead I want to extend a congratulations on starting your road to ovulation. Hopefully the clomid will do the trick, and maybe this will give you some peace in having an explanation as to why you weren't getting pregnant.

Hopefullysoon- this could be your month! Best wishes.

I am sending optimistic vibes to both of you.

My AF is due probably Sunday (tomorrow) or Monday, because I ovulated Sunday/Monday two weeks ago. I have absolutely no signs of pregnancy, but I have no signs of an impending period either. It's hard to be optimistic, but who knows. If I do get AF, I am definitely cracking a bottle (or two) of wine open. I am so stressed with everything right now, and I don't touch alcohol while trying to TTC from clomid time on... When I was not ttc, I really enjoyed some wine on the weekends.

Just want to say that I am glad this forum is positive and that everyone gets along. It is hard to reply to people if you don't read through every post first, and a lot of people do that on other forums and it causes unwanted drama. I am glad that this is a peaceful place where we can come to express our feeling on TTC. Thanks to all of you for your advice and sharing your stories. :)

Hey girls!

O Baby I totally agree! So glad everyone gets along here =). I've seen so much drama on other forums and it's like come on ppl we are all here for the same reasons!

Jac019...I am sooooo excited for u! I am praying u get that BFP! U deserve it girl. Stay positive =)

J-Rafih...you're not in this boat alone. After several tests (ultrasounds, biopsies, etc.) I was diagnosed with ANOVULATORY AMENORRHEA....this means I don't ovulate (anovulation) and I don't have periods (amenorrhea). When I do, it is VERY RARE and VERY UNEXPECTED....I have no idea when it will happen =(. So, I totalllllly feel ya girl. I also start clomid soon. Doc says I will NEED it to get pregnant...bc let's face it, pregnancy is not possible without ovulation. I'm rooting for u =).

Baby Dust to all!
