Hi mzmom, welcome! It's been a little quiet here of late but myself and manfa are usually on for a chat. Best of luck trying to get your little twins, hope it works for you. I tried clomid back in August, my first time trying it, mainly because I wanted to get pregnant quick and hoping that it might be twins. Well, the getting pregnant quick worked a treat, first go on the clomid and I fell pregnant and I'm due a little baby at the very start of June, everything seems to be going well. So, clomid works, although not all the time for twins. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get what you are looking for. I know in some countries (like mine) that they will do a c-section up to four times depending on how well the mother has recovered from the previous sections and her age, etc, so you might still be in with a chance if you don't get twins this time. Congrads on the pregnancy!! thanks so much for replying mama. Yeah I did not think they could tell you how many sections to have. Im still young (will be 28 in Oct, hubby is older will be 34 in March. My 1st section was bc "munch" was breech,then "cookie" was a repeat. So what kind of process did you use with your clomid? what days did you take it? im thinking taking it days 5-9 at night before I go to bed.

i took clomid unprescribed 50mgs round 1 and then 100mgs round 2 on days 3-7 i took the tablets at night before bed so if i did get any side effects i slept through them!!

im now 6 weeks pregnant and get to see my midwife later this afternoon!!!

Ah, sure you'll be flying, you're only a baby yourself. God, would love to be 28 again! I'm 37 myself and am starting to feel it, LOL. You'll have no problem with a few more c-sections. I have never had a c-section but know plenty of people that have, I know the recovery afterwards is quite hard on the mum, please god yours were ok.

I took the clomid on days 5 thru 9, 50mg tablets (I would have taken more but I was too frightened of the unknown seems as it was unprescribed). I think I took it during the morning time but I would recommend the night time, that way you might sleep through the side effects. I had a lot of headaches with it and felt like crap for the few days but it was well worth it. I have heard if you take it earlier and a higher dosage, like days 3 thru 7 you have a better chance of twins but not sure how true that is. What brand of clomid did you get? The one I took was Ferticlo.

How come you did the IUI with Cookie?

We already have five lovely little kids so this could very well be my last. My husband has said six is it for him but we'll see. Unless he gets "fixed" I might keep going, LOL. I originally took the clomid because my last little baby took over a year and a half to conceive and because I'm getting nearer 40 every day I just didn't want to have to wait that long again, plus, I've always wanted twins (maybe next time, lol).

So anyway, hope it all works out for you, we'll be thinking of you.

LuvBabies - yeah the recovery right after is the hardest, but I have my hubby and mom there with me once we came home from the hospital. In the hospital like the day of and the day after is the worst. But its all worth it. Yeah, that is also what I am worried about the unknown side effects with it being unprescribed. I want to do 75mg. I have 100mg in my posession but not sure if I want to do 50 or more. I have enough for 2 cycles of 50mg each. I think this will be the last time we do an IUI or even attempt to get preggo. So why not shoot for the stars. =) The brand that I have is Fertomid. It looks like they are little white pills. I looked them up online (what Clomid looks like) and they look legit.

We did the IUI with Cookie because we have NEVER used condoms and just could not do it on our own. Munch was 5 and we had been trying for years. We started right after we got married in 06 trying to have another one and it just was not working. Everything looked ok, but it was not working for us. We did not have the detailed exam that most have when they go and see a fertility doc because I already had my mind made up that we were going to do the IUI. I did a lot of research and found it to be very good. It worked for us on the very first try.

Aww 5 little ones. How sweet is that. See thats what I wanted 4 or 5 kids ;-)

mzmom thanks very much for the congrats!!! i decided to do clomid unprecribed as it took me 10 years nearly to get pregnant from my 1st son to second! i never used any contraception at all after seeing a fertility specialist he said it was due to me having pcos but he wouldnt prescribe clomid as i was ovulating! fell pregnant with my 2nd son eventually( no meds) after giving up the idea that id ever have another baby he will now be 2 in march!! i asked drs when i had him about my pcos and the reply i got was well you clearly dont have it as you conceived!! lol we knew we wanted a 3rd child to complete our family and didnt want to wait another 10 yrs so after much research and thought decided this (clomid) was the way for me!!!

im currently 6 weeks and a few days now had my first midwife appointment yesterday!! she took my bloods and also sent of my paperwork for a dating scan!! so now i just have to wait!! something that im not good at!!! lol no not sure how many but am hoping theres only 1 in there!!! lol

manfa - how exciting. 10 years is a long time. I thought that 5 yrs was long. Did you have any of the bad side effects with the clomid? What days and what amount did you take?

That is so exciting. You were not trying for 2 just wanted one. Thats good as well. I will be super happy with just one as well, even though in the back of my mind, I have always wanted twins. I really hope that I am with you ladies in the wait for your bundles of joy. =)

i took clomid on days 3-7 and took 100mgs before bed! i had absolutley no side effects at all!!! i was very lucky as i know some of the ladies who take it did get them bad

yeah 10 years is a long time but to be honest we were only trying from when my eldest was 5 but yeah to think i never fell in that 10 years!!


i am sure it wont be long til you have your own bundle of joy too! good things come to those who wait!!!! as i learnt!!

so what are ur plans with the clomid?

well Im kind of scared to take more than 50 mg, but since I know that this will probably be our last time trying for another baby, I really want to take more (maybe 75mg, not too sure about 100 just yet). I want to give us the best shot. I do know that we will pair the IUI with the clomid so that should also boost our chances. Still not quite sure on it though. I have like a month to figure out how much and when I am going to take it. I think we will start our process next cycle (which should be the middle of Feb.).

I'm so glad u going this forum and thread! I have been trying to conceive for year and half and have been unsuccessful. I went to the dr who referred me to the fertility clinic, they say they can see that I am not ovulating but will not give me clomid or help me until I loose weight and my BMI is under 39, what is so annoying if u went private they would prescribe me clomid no problem. Over the last few days I have been toying with the idea of getting u/p clomid, alot of forums disagreed with the idea however this thread has made me feel better.

I will try and order clomid to start after my next period (only came off couple if days ago) can anyone recommend a site to purchase them from.

Congrats on all that it has worked for it has made me feel like finally having a baby's possible.

Hi BobbyC_ttc, nice to hear from you. I can't remember what site I got my clomid from but the brand that I took was Ferticlo, if you do a search under that you might be able to find a site that sells it u/p. It worked for me on the first go but then I was ovulating pretty normal, I just wanted to get pregnant fast rather than wait the year and a half that it took for my previous pregnancy. There's no way the doctors would have given it to me here knowing that my ovulation was ok. Manfa also took Ferticlo and it worked for her too so maybe it's worth looking into. I suppose it could be different for other people but might be worth a try. Are they asking you to lose much weight? It's hard to know what to do really, just be careful in whatever you decide. BobbyC_ttc, hi mama! welcome to the thread. Im a newbie as well. Sounds like our story. So since you are ovulating they wont give you clomid? I guess they see it as you can get preggo bc you are ovulating so there is no need to help. That sucks. We did not get clomid either, well we did not ask for it. I had my mind made up that we were going to do the IUI and got preggo 1st time with no clomid or anything. I dont remember where I ordered mine from, but its the generic form. Its called "Fertomid".

Hi mamas, I hope all is well with everyone. Its so quiet nobody is on anymore. That sucks. But I did have a question, I thought maybe someone could help me with...... my last period started on 1/19/11. they only last about 3-4 days. Hubby & i bd just for fun yesterday. Now since then I have been spotting like crazy. Not a lot, not dark or anything, just light red, small amounts on the panty liners, and when I wipe (I know mamas TMI, but Im trying to see what could be going on here). I thought maybe it could be from ovulation, but I am not due to ovulate until 2/2/11. So I dont know. Then I thought well maybe we got too into it a little. Not sure, just wanted to see if it has happened to anyone else and what it was.

I just wanted to say that after just 2 cycles of trying again with clomid and hcg shot I'M PREGNANT again..... my twins are only 5 months old :)

Jen30 - well done, congratulations! That's fantastic news. Clomid worked first time for me and I am currently 24 weeks pregnant with one baby (have five more kiddies under the age of 8), think this might be my last one but we'll see (might be able to persuade my husband one more time).

Anyway, congrats again, delighted for you.
