Ok... So I'm trying something different now. I have been reading and researching like crazy, and for the past 2 days, my husband and I have been trying the" turkey baster" method. It's a little weird .... But it's worth a try. I actually had to google how to find my cervix haha .... I will let you ladies know if we have any success with it! :)

Hi godskid,

Ive not been on this forum for that long so you will have to bear with me when you say CD (im guessing that means cycle date). Well I had my HSG on 09th June and i'd only came off my period the week before - i waited 6 days until me & my DH were back 'at it' again lol!
Gwenie1981 - good that they found where the problems lied - they found nothing on my HSG so im back to sqaure one of wondering what the hell it is that stopping me falling pregnant - its so frustrating the whole thing!!! Im due on my period this week and don't feel any different so again, looks like its trying a new method :-(

Hello ladies,
I'm 35 and went to see my gyno because I couldn' figure out why I wasn't conceiving. She did a hormone blood work and scheduled me for an HSG. The blood work came back that my progesterone was low (but she never told me how low) and then I had to go for the HSG. The test itself was a little uncomfortable for about 60 seconds, (it felt like severe cramps), then after that I didn't feel anyting at all. I was so fortunate to have the kindest doctor doing the procedure, he was very sweet, and reassuring and comforting and has been doing this for over 30 years; so it helped a lot.
Turns out everything was clear and fine and the doc said I could start trying immediately. My regular gyno called me with the results and said for me to come back and see her in 2 months if I am not preggers. I am keeping my fingers crossed that somehow the procedure will boost positive results and that I wont have to go onto next steps.
I have always have regular periods and my hubby is normal (he has 2 kids, now grown though, from a previous marriage). It's so hard seeing all my friends easily conceive and especially difficult walking into the department stores seeing all the cute litle baby stuff and all the mommy and daddys pushing the strollers. Hopefully I will have some good news, as my hubby works really long hours, so finding the time to try is difficult in itself. My thoughts and prayers are with all of your ladies, as it feels so comforting knowing I am not in this alone.
babydust to all of us! xoxoxoxo

Hello Ladies,

I had my HSG on last Friday September 23, 2011. I must say that it was pretty uncomfortable. I did take medication prior to the procedure which seemed to help after. I spotted for a little while during the day and then it stopped. My husband and I tried immediately since I was ovulating. I suppose to menstruate on October 9th so I am hoping that we will soon be parents. baby dust to all**** ****** *********

Hey Map,

I think I might have to try again next month. I had been having pain since Sunday (2 days after my HSG) so I decided to go to the ER Thursday only to find out that 1. I'm not prego n 2. I had Cyst on ny left ovary that had busted.

Also, after leaving the ER I checked my vociemail and my gyne had left my HSG results on there telling me that tye dye spilled outta both tubes but that my left tube looked swollen. So obviously I had the cyst before I went in for the procedure.

Better luck next month

Hi Ladies,

I just did my HSG this afternoon.. And started googling up on this procedure when i chanced upon this site. After reading all the posts, I regret not having done my research earlier as I would have taken some painkiller before the procedure. My gynae did not explain the procedure to me beforehand so I had absolutely no idea that it would be so painful!!!! But thank god the 3 nurses were friendly and empathetic.. I bled a little after the HSG procedure and still feeling abit nauseas 7 hours on... Gynae asked us to have intercourse the next 2 days as I'm ovulating now, but I'm so sore down there, love making is the last thing on my mind!!! Hubby has planned a 2 day trip across the causeway to help me relax, so hoping for the best.. As I can't bear to go thru this traumatic procedure again. A tip to those about to go for HSG - make sure ur very comfortable with ur gynae so that he will be able to put u at ease during the procedure & also, pop in some painkillers ;)))

Btw, my Gynae said my ovaries are abit swollen but no blockage. He attributed the swelling to my inverted uterus, saying that there was blood left behind during my last few periods.. He had put me on Clomid from CD 6-10, then on Premarin on CD 11-15 and followed by Duphaston from CD 16-33.. I have read that a lot of you ladies have tried Clomid, but have also been put on Premarin / Duphaston? Hope to hear from you ladies soon..

Meanwhile, all the very best :D

I wanted to send a reassuring message to everyone who is signed up for this forum. I posted a question here sometime in Dec. 2009 before doing my HSG. We conceived about a week after doing the HSG (which I luckily did not find painful for more than 10 seconds, though I popped two extra-strength tylenol beforehand PLUS a Valium, upon a friend's suggestion and my doc's agreement, which was probably overkill but it did make the whole thing easier, I think). So HSGs do lead to women getting pregnant, in my case, during that very cycle! We had a healthy boy nine months later, Thank God, in Sept. 2010, and now he's a year old. I'm now pregnant again (no need for another HSG) and it happened naturally - which is an additionally great thing because I'm over 40. (Ladies, don't believe the hype...I have tons of friends getting pregnant after 38 without doing IVF! It's great that IVF exists, of course, but don't rush into it if you don't have to.) Anyway, I wish you all easy HSGs that lead to easy pregnancies and most important, healthy babies and happy mommies!
