this is my story--stopped bcp in 7/2005 and didn't get a period until dec 05....the next few cycles were 43 days long and I went to the doc for blood work---elevated prolactin level of 20.1...doc said it is too high for someone wanting to conceive.....negative mri and have been on bromocriptine for 2 weeks. We really want to get pregnant and hope this will straighten things out. Care to share your story? jess

Just an update! I am now 18 weeks pregnant. I can feel the baby moving around now and hope to find out the sex this week. Watching my levels closely with the help of my OB and endocrinologist. Last prolactin level was 107. We are checking my levels monthly. Also just had a peripheral vision field test which was normal. Have to watch for optic nerve damage with a adenoma. Just keep the faith ladies. Bromocriptine is the reason I am pregnant. It has been an emotional roller coaster but I am almost half way through this pregnancy and we are hoping for the best! How long were you on bromocriptine before you got pregnant? Were your periods regular? I have only been on it for 2 weeks...I am impatient though. Thanks. jess

congrats for ur pregnancy...just wanted to ask u..u used to do BD everyday around the time of O or every other day??i am on dostinex(cebrgoline)this is my 6 week of taking it...how long it will take me to get preggo....

my doctor called me and told me that my level is now 20 . it was in the begining 33 after using bromo for a month it was go down to 10 now its 20 i really didnt understand eventhought i use bromo everday why its high again. i got my preod this mornig 6 days late. i really thing that i am pregnant this time but i am not pregnant i hope everyone get pregnant soon.

Jess, I took Bromocriptine for about 3 months before getting pregnant, but my husband and I used protection the first two months. I have a pituitary tumor so we wanted to make sure that the meds would bring down my prolactin level over a few months. My doctors warned me that I could get pregnant immediately while on Bromo. My levels were in the 70s and within one month of being on Bromo, they went down to normal. I was on Bromo two times per day every day.

jasmine...sorry to hear from u that ur Af arrived ... this happened to me in december .. i was on clomid and my periods came4 days late i thot i am preg... and when AF came i cried alot... But dont lose hope we will get pregnant one day.God will listen to us... hope our prolactin levels came down

nihka everyone is telling me that don thing about it so much if you thing it will come late if we take off this thing from our mind than maybe it will be much easier.

jasmine- you are not alone- I too had high prolactin they found in January- it was 29.2 , it went down to 5.9 and then 4 weeks later 6.3- I am hoping it doesn't continue to rise. Are they upping your dosage? My doc says they see it often and they have to increase it. They also noticed my testosterone level was high- it was in the normal range but on the high end- since starting parolodel, it came down 20 points and I can see a total change in my skin. I was suffering breakouts off and on for the last 2 years and had no idea why. It's amazing how much your hormones have to be right for things to work properly- hang in there. I too have been taking it now since Jan 6 and will find out Tues if I'm preg or not. I'm actually dreading next week because things just don't go my way often!! I just hope that the hormone issue will balance out and it will finally happen. They can't find anything else wrong- I'm really counting on this!! Take Care. Brooke

I just found out today from my clinic that you cant compare prolactin levels with people from other clinics because they levels the machine uses may be measureing differently. For example mine is 28 and after reading a bunch of these I got concerned so today I asked about the level and was told at my clinic a 70-80 would be high and mine is fantastic. They told me not to compare with anyone other than those in the clinic as it may be measureing levels differently. I hope this calms some of you down, it sure did me. Ask at your own clinics what their lows, normals and highs are and base it on that not on the levels others have been told.

dont worry everyone give us a good news soon i belive that i have been using since 2.5 month as i told before
my doctor put me clomid for produsing more good egg i will use five days than let see i have a doctor appointment on april 17 if its working or not i will try all the ways until i got pregnant.

I have recently been diagnosed with high prolactin level and I don't know the # of how high it is but in a few days I will be going to see an specialist to see if I have an tumor or not. So, my question is should I be worried to see the specialist if my level # is unknown to myself. Could this be serious if I am trying to get pregnant if I am having cycles every 2 weeks?

hi ... even i have high Plactine level..my doc prescribed me dostinex ,i will eat for 6 mths...ACtually with high levels u cannnot get pregnant as what my doc told me ...so go for checkup and may be u will get some med. to lower it down and then u can get preggo...all th ebest

My prolactine was 29 7 yrs back, than it became normal and now again itis 25
what does that means and how will this effect my fertility

hi i;m very happy i found this site where i can share my experience and ask questions to women with my same problem, i'm 25 yearsold and trying for a baby. Iwas diagnosed with proloctinoma 4 years ago, like most of you parlodel didn't work so i was prescribed with dostinex and my prolactin level are normal, I'm worry if i get pregnant while taking dostinex can harm the baby. have any of you got pregnant while taking dostinex? if so how was the pregnancy and was the baby healthy?
