Just found a possible explanation for early faint positives that do not result in a pregnancy.The early strips are used by emergency rooms to rule out certain conditions in diagnosis (like tumors). The earliest Hcg is the alpha chain (which is why you can use OPK for an early result) Antibodies made against the alpha subunit will also cross-react with LH, FSH, and TSH -

i am to understand this correctly, it's the beta chain that's produced after implantion and so is last to be detected. as of today i therefore do not think i am pg ( i do know my 3 day fsh read 13.66)

the plot thickens. I just ran an OPK - i am so curious - within seconds it shows a second pink line (not a full surge) confusion...shouldn't the LH be out of my system by now? (12dpo)

Oh. i just found out that the typical amount of LH in the body at any given time is 5-20 mIU. An OPK looks for a surge above this (@ 30-40 mIU)

fmu FRER maybe faint line - OPK is definitely getting darker. (i read that just as the OPK peaks - FRER might show a faint positive with a bet@ 30) i might be hallucinating if i have to squint that hard. 14 dpo no spotting just nausea. bbt 98.7
i don't want to waste money on a beta now until i get a definite hpt positive.

uh oh, just found out another piece of the puzzle. A recent study Rx Clomid on cd1-5. None of the participants in cd5-9 conceived, 24% clomod 1-5 got their BFP. I'm off to to get my clomid to start tonight. It's possible that my fertile window is sooner than i'm expecting it to be, so we are missing it..

as i was getting my instead cups i noticed some discount ferning microscopes for $15 so i got one. it really is fascinating. i saw one fern in a sea od random dots - so that will increase over the next few days. i also decided to try taking one clomid at night and one in the morning. i did feel the dizzyness after the morning pill but not the hot flashes that i got last month from taking them both together. so would i prefer a hot flash or a brief dizzy spell?

cd4. started ferning. that means i'm 3-5 days away from ovulation. no wonder i'm not getting pg. we're missing the window.

cd 10. pink spotting.mittleschmerz. is this ovulation or a cyst bursting forth? i feel bloated but then i've been eating for 2 over the holidays (more carbs than i usually allow)
