I was diagnosed with PCOS almost two months ago and was put on 2000mg of metformin a day. I have been taking it every day since than and I have been having no results at all. I have not ovulated or even shown signs of starting my period. My husband and I are very discouraged due to the fact we have been trying to get pregnant for a yr now. I am due to go back to my gyno in two month but I do not want to continue the metformin if it is not going to help because it still makes me very sick. I wanted to get some advice on what would be the best thing for me to do? Thanks

How closely are you monitoring your carbs? You said you ate "maybe 20g" carbs that day, but are you keeping track of them somehow? It is surprisingly easy to underestimate what you eat, trust me I've been there. I suggest trying one of the many food tracking apps out there to track your carb and calorie intake.

It is possible that Metformin simply doesn't work for you. That's not your fault and you should never be ashamed. Your doctor will just have to try other drugs and possibly insulin until something works for you.

In the meantime, track everything you eat if you haven't already. Drink plenty of water and exercise. Those will hopefully help you get your numbers lower.
