Toni - November 30

Kelly, are you sure it's af? Some signs can be the same. Did you test? I feel tired and really moody!!!! I am still teaching dance. I did all the way with my other two. I am getting dance aides to do the hard demonstration parts next semester. It's a pretty funny sight to see when you are way out there!! did you go anywhere fun for the holiday?

KellyN - November 30

Hi Toni! Today would be the first day I could test since it is 14 days after the hcg injection. I don't want to test early this time, and its a lot of money to keep doing that. Af is due on Sunday. My temp went down one degree this morning, just like it always does when it starts to go down. If af really is coming, my temp should reach the cover line by tomorrow, then should start spotting by Friday. That's neat that you can still teach dance while pg. That would be so much fun! I went camping and caving over the holiday. It was fun and really helped take my mind off of ttc. We saw some really beautiful white crystals in the cave we visited. Being a geologist, I love that kind of stuff. How did you spend your holiday?

Toni - November 30

Wow your a geologist? That is so cool! We just did the usual holiday stuff. Visit family around town and eat! So if af does come, are you doing another IUI? I forgot what you had said about that. I tested on day 14 after the IUI.

KellyN - November 30

Hi Toni! We will not do an IUI next month. We are throwing in the towel because the doc wants to do surgery next (lap). Well, looks like af is starting early this month. I started spotting bright red/pink (not brown, which is wierd) this morning. Af is soon to follow. Its kind of sad to see it come, but also a relief to know I won't have to put myself through this anymore. Now I get to be the "fun aunt" who spoils her nieces endlessly. Its a title I just love!! We will probably look into adoption over the next few months.

KellyN - November 30

BTW, are you feeling any movement from the little bean yet?

Toni - December 1

Kelly, I have a friend on another thread who is adopting from Guatemala. She is so excited. She expects to have one by July! Are you going to do a foreign adoption? If so, what countries are you considering? I don't feel any movement yet (unless you count gas!). I think that is more around 16-20 weeks. Right now I am getting anxious about my next sono where they compute my odds for a baby with problems. Can't wait to get that over with! There is way too much to worry about. And I am a worrier anyway. I would love to hear about your adoption endeavors!!

KellyN - December 1

Hi Toni! Let me know how the sono goes. I'm sure everything would be fine. My dh read somewhere that 'older' (I don't like that, lets say we are more 'mature') couples often have babys with less problems because they are more prepared than younger couples. Don't know if its true, but I sure want to believe its true. ;o) Well, my temp dropped below the line this morning, so it is official - af is on her ugly way. It will be a few months before we decide what to do about adoption. My sister adopted a baby from Russia, but it was really expensive. We could not afford to do that! Heck, that's a big reason we are stopping treatment, because it is getting so expensive. I guess if I were to choose another country, I would adopt from China. In an effort to bring down their HUGE population, the government gives big advantages to families with only one child, and many couples are forced to put their children up for adoption. Children are so plentiful for adoption there, that they even allow single parents to adopt. Besides, I've always wanted to go there.

Toni - December 3

Kelly, China sounds like a good option. I know all adoptions are expensive. I had a scare yesterday. Woke up and in the bathroom saw this brownish blood. Freaked me out!! Went to the dr and had a sono and cervix check. All is well. The dr said this happens to many women. So no heavy lifting or bd for me. We got to see arms and fingers on the sono though. And the baby was moving a lot! Sorry to hear your temps are dropping. I know you will get a baby one way or another. I will be praying for you. Hang in there.

KellyN - December 5

Thanks for your prayers Toni! How exciting to see that kind of detail in your little one so soon. Gosh, I am just so happy for you. Yes, I've read that spotting with pg women is a common occurance. The way I've heard it is brown spotting is okay, red means there is a 50% chance of m/c. Glad you are okay! Well, I'm confused. Last Wednesday, I had red spotting, then brown the next day, and my temps went down to the coverline. Usually I would continue spotting until af started. Today is the last day that I would be expecting af. Most of the time on the meds af comes on 16 dpo, but it has come on 17 dpo. The wierd thing is that I stopped spotting last Friday. Yesterday I kept feeling af cramps and running to the bathroom to check, but no af. This morning my temp dropped even more, below the coverline. All hpts are negative, so I guess its just a waiting game for af. If it doesn't start today, I will be really confused!!

KellyN - December 6

Well, still no af, and bfn this morning. I think I'll wait til the weekend to take another test. I really don't feel like I thought I would if I were pg. No big stomach cramps, no upset stomach, no full painful bbs. My bbs are kind of itchy this morning, though. I'm 18 dpo, and af is awol! What were your symptoms again?

Toni - December 6

I did not have many symptoms. Just a little weird cramp feeling. But I have had more bleeding, went to the ER, dr there said I was losing the baby. Horrible weekend. Then went to ob and had another sono, baby is fine and she said I have a hemotoma that should go away, she has seen it a lot. So now I am no bed rest. What a emotional roller coaster!! Hoping and praying for the best. That is a strange "period". You never know. Bleeding when you would have gotten your period is not uncommon. Can you get a blood test? That would be best.

KellyN - December 7

Oh my gosh!!!!! Toni, that sounds like it was just heart wrenching! I just hate ER doctors. Some of them just don't have a clue, and don't bother trying to even research why things happen. I'm sure there are many women who bleed during pg. I've even heard of women who get regular periods (clotts and all) while pg. So glad to hear you are okay. No news for me, still bfn this morning. I'm 19 dpo.

KellyN - December 8

Hi Toni! How are you feeling today. Has the spotting stopped? I'm 20 dpo, and still bfn.

Toni - December 9

Kelly sorry to hear you are seeing bfn's. But no af right? I am still spotting but it seems to be getting less and it's brown (which is the color to have). It is so scarey to go to the bathroom these days! I have had a lot of people tell me they have heard of bleeding through the whole thing. Love those stories!!! I hope this will clear up and not happen again. This bed rest is driving me nuts!!! And it's killing my back! Hang in there!!!

KellyN - December 9

Whew! You had me pretty worried there. Since I hadn't heard from you, I was praying nothing bad happened! Hopefully the rest of the pregnancy will go smoothly. How many weeks are you now? I know you are getting closer to the end of the first trimester, which will be a great relief for you. I'm 21 dpo now and still bfn this morning. Dh will be home tonight, though (he's working out of town), so that will lift my spirits, and take my mind off things. Other than that, I'm going crazy.

Toni - December 10

I am 11 weeks now. And I am going crazy! This is a lot to worry about. Can you get a blood test done? The waiting drives me nuts too!
