PCOS, Metformin, Provera, and Clomid

Hey ladies. I am on cd 9 today. Took my first round of clomid (50mg) cd 3-7. Side effects so far have been severe cramping on my right side, and HIDEOUS hot flashes that keep me up all night. :(
I have pcos, and I haven't ovulated on my own since going off of birth control in September. I've had two cycles induced by Provera/Prometrium. I take 1000mg Metformin every day and prenatal vitamins as well.
Has anyone else in a similar medical situation had any luck getting a BFP on their first clomid round?
