Hi ladies. How were your weekends? Mine was good and relaxing. I haven't seen AF yet, so we'll see. I wonder if the HSG test could delay your period. My Husband doesn't want me to test until I'm a week late! I really don't think I could wait that long. I hope you get good news KellyN and Kellie too! Talk to you later.

Hi Everyone - KellyN the doctor has only put me on Metformin and told me to lose weight and I have lost 1st 5lb since the 7th July am still waiting for appointment for scan and also meant to have a lapooroscopy maybe its a good thing that I have to wait for appointment as then I have more time to lose weight I bet all of you are skinny people. Babydust to you all.

KellyN - September 13

Hello! Well, af is officially here as of yesterday. It was sad to see it come, but at least now I don't have to worry about my backpacking trip at the end of this month. I was debating cancelling if I was pg. So, no I have a month off to just enjoy not taking clomid. We'll start back up with the serious stuff next month. Kellie, I will be joining you on a nice relaxing month this month. I will still check in on this thread to see how everyone is doing. Louise, congradulations on loosing 5 lbs!!! That is awesome. I have been slowly gaining weight over the years (I'm 36), but lukcily am still at a managable weight (130) mostly due to all the outdoor activities I'm involved with. How much do you have to loose?

Kellyb - September 14

Hi everyone. AF showed up yesterday. I called my Dr and set up a scan for the 27th. I assumed I was ovulating days 10-14, NOPE..It's day 15-19. Lovely to just find this out yesterday. So, we are going to do the scan just to make sure everything is going according to plan. Good luck ladies.

Beth - September 14

Kellyb sorry about AF showing up for a visit. When I was on clomid I never ovulated before day 16 but I guess that's very common with Clomid. Are you using OPK's or are they just doing U/S to decide when you ovulate? I did both for a while but then relied just on the u/s for the last cycle. KellyN sorry about af but at least it sounds like you have a great back packing trip coming up.
Kellie keep us posted my fingers are crossed for you.
Louise congrats on the weight loss it's amazing how much weight can play a factor in getting pregnant. Is your doctor thinking of giving you meds to bring on AF or are they hoping that as the insulin resistance improves you'll ovulate? Good luck with everything I know it takes so long for things to happen sometimes but in the end it's all worth it

Hey Kellyb, so sorry to hear about af showing up! Since you know what the primary problem is (pcos) and your doc's are hard at work on it, you will get there. I think the scanning is a good idea. So, when will you start with the meds? Are yo doing clomid again this cycle? Hi Beth! How are things going your way? Any new symptoms. I like to hear about your progress because I know I will be there ... eventually! :o)

Beth - September 14

Hi KellyN not too many new symptoms here still have the nausea but started with heartburn after I eat now. I'm having trouble with finding clothes that fit! Maternity stuff is too big and all my clothes are too small. I managed to find a pair of pants that I use to safety pin on because they were so big on me. They are now so tight that I could just get them buttoned but they'll have to do since I can't go to work with no pants! It's so strange because I've only gained about 3 lbs but the weight is distributed so weird (all in my stomach and thighs). Other than that feeling pretty good. The next ultrasound is on Monday! The embroy officially became a fetus yesterday (I'm now 8 weeks along).

Kellie - September 14

Hi guys! Well AF came for me, and it was fine. I have strangely gotten over the deperateness of trying to get pregnant. I just look at it as more time with my sweetie which is so great. So many people have told me, when you get pregnant, and have kids you will miss the time that you didn't have any because you will never be alone again. So I have decided not to live these years or months I hope wanting something I don't have. I have something that a lot of people don't have and really want, a loving husband. Anyways that's my two cents! We each will have our time, and when it comes, great! But for now, I am thankful to be where I am. I know that's its very easy to just want to start taking a bunch of drugs, but I want a year free of any fertility treatments. Let's hope I stick to that! Good luck girls. Talk to you all soon.

KellyN - September 15

Hi everyone! Kellie, looks like you and I are in the same boat, with af here and no dh for a while. Luckily we share a cell phone plan, so we can talk all the time, which really helps. He was soooo sweet with the 'I miss you' and ' I want to come home' last night. One month is just too long to be away from him! How long is your dh gone for Kellie? Beth, so sorry about your symptoms, but that's also very cool that you have symptoms. At least you know that the pg is real. Horray for 8 weeks!!!!! Horray for a 'fetus'!!! My sis wore sweat pants all through her pregnancy. She found that anything clothing that stretches is worth its weight in gold. Can't wait to hear about your next u/s!

Kellyb - September 15

Hi gals! You all are awesome. Having you guys to talk w/ makes this so much easier. I have to agree with you Kellie, I don't get upset anymore when AF comes. It's not worth it. I'm going to listen to your words of wisdom about spending time with DH, I really didn't think of having a child that way. KellyN, I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS. Can they diagnose it with an ultrasound? I've always had cysts but they come and go. Hopefully our scan will shed some light on the situation. My dr said the next step is "injections". I'm not sure what he means by that, I'll find out on my appointment. Hi Beth, glad to hear everything is great with you and your little fetus!! I've tried the ovulation strips, but they just aggravated me. I would get 2 lines but one was always lighter than the other and sometimes I would forget and skip a day or 2 so I stopped using them. I am starting my Clomid again this Saturday. It will be my 4th round. My Dr says he won't keep me on it past 6 months due to the thinning of the uterine lining factor. He says it happens after prolonged usage. So are you gals still trying this month or no? Talk to ya! Kellyb

Kellie - September 15

KellyN, My husband never ended up having to go to LA. The water has pretty much cleared out, and his command was going to help fix some of the bridges and build some temporary ones so that people could cross the water. He is a Diver in the Navy. But now at this point, I don't think that they need divers. But we do know that he will be leaving for 6 months in January to go a bunch of places and do dive jobs. Hopefully he will be going back to Kauai! We spent two weeks there together last summer when he was there for 3 months, and it was probably the best time we had together. So I am hoping for a second trip! Anyways if you guys ever want some encouragement in any way, or want to keep in touch, my email is [email protected]. I am trying not to check the boards, I am not even coming for me, just to check on you girls. Anyways, talk to you all soon! Beth...I am still thinking of you too! I am so happy that it is now a fetus. Please keep updating!

Kellyb I think at one point you were thinking about using Femara for a cycle. I had a hard time finding out a lot about it, this was the site I found most helpful http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:Aair4g3c0sg
J:www.soft-infertility.com/docs/PILetrosol.pdf+L
etrozole+vs+clomiphene+success+rates&hl=en

I
had uterine thinning with my 2nd cycle of clomid (I just didn't do well with that drug). Are they measuring the follicles at midcycle and your lining to make sure it's thick enough? I know my ob wasn't but when I started seeing the specalist they scanned everything every few days when it got close to midcycle that way there was no possibility of missing the "window" or having a lining that couldn't support pregnancy (which is what happened with the 2nd cycle). Good luck
-Beth

Kellyb - September 15

Hi Beth, this is my first scan so far. I really do like my Dr, but it seems like he's not taking every step like he should be. I've only had my progestrone test during the first cycle of clomid, then the HSG during my 3rd cycle and now on my 4th cycle I'm getting the u/s. I mentioned the Femara to him and he told me the clomid shouldn't thin out the lining until after 6 months and he won't keep me on it for that long. I told him I wanted the scan done for my own peace of mind, just to make sure it isn't thinning out my lining. There's got to be something going on. Do you think because DH sperm count is at 20 (20 to 80 is normal) it is causing us a problem? I kinda hope the scan does show something just so we can pinpoint the problem, ya know. I may ttc for another cycle after this one because they say the HSG test makes you more fertile for 3 months. Well, one of those months is over and I'm on my second month. So, how are you feeling. Got any movement yet? I'll talk to you later. Hi everyone.

Beth - September 16

Kellyb I don't think DH's sperm is a problem at all my DH's was only 11 when we got pregnant this past cycle. When in the cycle are you doing the scan? I usually had mine on day 13 at that point they can count the number of follicles and measure them, they should be over 18 to ovulate and be mature. The uterine lining should be over 6mm. Hope these numbers help you out when you have the scan I know I had NO CLUE what was good or bad when I had my last IUI. With my last cycle of Femara my lining was 10mm and my follicle was 24mm (just to give you an idea of a successful cycle). I'm feeling pretty good thanks for asking I'm just enjoying even the lousy feeling moments.
Good luck!

Hi Beth, my u/s is on the 27th which is day 16 of my cycle. Thanks for the numbers, like you said..I would not have had a clue. I sure have learned a lot going through this. Do you know what my Dr is talking about when he said the next step is injections? Talk to you soon.
