HCG shot triggers ovulation right?

Hello ladies, i'm new to this procedure, here is my situation, normally i don't ovulate rite, cos everytime i test its negetive for surge, but the doc put me on clomids from my cd4 thru cd8, on cd14 i tested that morning too and still no surge so i went in for sonogram where the doc said my follicles where tooooooooo big that we should stop and not go on but i insisted on going through with it, so i was given half does of the HCG shot and scheduled for IUI the next morning...its been five day since my iui, just need someone to tell me a similiar cenerio that leads to a success story, pls someone lift my spirit......
