SherryZ-I hope this is our month, too! I'm glad that your HSG went well. I wondered if I had a blockage because the dye completely filled my tube and spilled out on one side. Nothing had happened to the other side, and then a few seconds later the tube on the other
side began to fill and spilled out. The dr. said it looked good. I had really mild cramping the next day, but mostly I just felt nauseated all week due to the antibiotics I was told to take (on an empty stomach). I thought that was worse than the cramps. Anyway, send my monthly updates!! I'm praying for you!

Thanks soup. I'm going to see my RE today @ 1:30. Hopefully he can give me more insight on whether it was truly blockage or not! Good luck to you also. I will keep you posted. Keep me posted as well. Maybe this is the month for both of us.

Glad I found this forum. I have an HSG scheduled for Friday July 20. We have been ttc for 1 year. After stopping bcp's I didn't have af for 6 mnths. I went to a fertility specialists for all the tests and it showed polycystic ovaries and elevated prolacting. Now taking metformin and bromocriptine and af has returned. I am hoping the HSG will be the final step. After reading all of these posts, many women seem to have gotten pregant soon after the HSG. So I am thinking...bring it on!
This has been such a mind boggling experience. Who knoew ttc would be so involved!? It is good to know that there are others out there going through a similiar experience. My friends and sister in law all got pregnant by accident! Sorry for the ramble...I'll be sure to give a shorter update after Fridays HSG extravaganza:)

asr, good luck to you with your hsg. After thinking I had tubal blockage, I'm not so sure. My RE did not have the results for the hospital yet, so he only went by what we told him. The RE thinks the radiologist was having trouble finding the entrance to my cervix and this caused the dye not to go through for about 10-15 seconds. Also, at my appointment yesterday, we did a post coital test that came back normal. My ultrasound showed that my uterine lining wasn't that thick (6.7mm on day 12). I'm having another ultrasound this Friday to see if it has thickened.........so many tests!!!!!! Good luck to you! I hope your hsg goes well.

Thanks sherryz.
Hopefully there is no blockage. That would be great news. Hopefully your next ultrasound will go well. Sounds like they are keeping a good eye on you.

Had my HSG today. Everything came out normal. One tube took a little longer that the other so it cramped alot more. They cleared the way finally and the dye spilled out both sides. I thought this would be the last test but the next test is a day 3 fsh test. Hopefully we will become pregnant and not have to worry about that test. I just turned 30 so I am hoping there is no reason to worry about the quality of my eggs quite yet. Anyway the HSG wasn't so horrible just like heavy menstrual cramps. I got a few hot flashes afterward and felt a little naseua but it faded fast. Feeling much better now!

asr, that's GREAT news. I'm glad things went well and it's all over now. The night after my hsg was pretty rough for me. I slept with a heating pad over my stomach all night. Don't be alarmed if you have some cramping. I had another ultrasound today. My lining actually grew to 7.2 mm. My RE still says this is thin and didn't really seem to give much hope that I would become pg this month. I have ovulated (saw this on ultrasound), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will fall pg this month. If not, he said my next step would be injectables. He's skipping clomid because he says it will only thin my lining further. I'm a little nervous about the injectables. My dh and I are still deciding if we want to go this route or not! Maybe we won't have to make that decision. I hope we both fall pg this month. Keep me posted!

Thanks Sherryz! I got through the night okay and slept really well but when I woke up I sneezed and that set off a few quick cramps!! Still feeling a bit sore. How early can you bd after an HSG? I am hoping to be able to before ovulation which should be in 3 days so we are cutting it close.
I hope that this month is your month too. Keep me posted on that. Good luck and positve thoughts being sent your way!!!!

Hi asr, glad to hear you slept well last night. You may have some additional pain (cramping) for another 24 hrs or so. The dr told me we could have relations 48 hrs after the hsg. I was really scared when we did it the first time after (thinking it would hurt!) But, everything was ok. You should have plenty of time to bd before ovulation. Good luck to you! I'll keep you posted. I guess I'm in the wait and see phase right now!!!

HSG Update - I went in yesterday for my first one, and let me just tell you, it is something that I would rather never do again. Thankfully I never move, so I just layed there and cried - for me, it hurt unbelievably. However, once the catheter was removed, I was sitting up having the doctor go over the pictures with me. (Please keep in mind that Navy doctors are much different, and are normally more abbrasive than gentle.) Anyway, my tubes seemed to be cleared, there was one spot in question, but i'll know more about that next week. I had minimal cramping for about an hour yesterday after the fact, and no spotting. Today I am back at work, and feel fine. I was on BC before the test, so I have no idea where in my cycle that I actually am....is it the same regardless of the b.c.? My doc also said to wait 2 weeks, but my nurse said 2 or 3 days "whenever it stops hurting should be fine"... woo-hoo!

Soup25, asr, how are you ladies? Haven't heard anything from you. I'm 9 dpo and waiting. At 6 dpo I had some cramping around my belly button and my pelvic bone. I sure am hoping this was implantation. I am scheduled to start in about 6 days. Hope things are going well for you both.

Still hanging in there. I think I am at 6 or 7 dpo. How long do you all wait until testing? I am trying to wait until 12 dpo. I have had horrible stomach aches lately but it is probably from the metformin. Keep me posted!!!!

asr, good hearing from you. I will probably wait until this Fri/Sat. That will be 15/16 dpo. I always test early and get a bfn.....so I'm hoping this strategy works! HA HA!! I was around 25 dpo before I ever got a positive from my son (born in 1996). Maybe the tests have improved slightly since then??? Keep me posted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of us! GOOD LUCK!!! I also started a post one WW if you want to post there....sort of like a countdown!

Thanks for the info. I'll try and find the 2ww post. I am working this afternoon and have nothing to do but sit in front of a computer and obsess about all this:) !!!
Maybe I will wait longer to test, I can't stand having yet another bfn.
