Pregnancy after HSG

I had an HSG done 6/27. I only have my right tube (lost the other in an ectopic years ago), but the test said it was open. The test had to have opened it because I got pregnant the same month, July 7th. I had been trying for 6 years (at least not using protection with my husband). I just found out today that I am losing the baby. My HSG levels are dropping (77 from 129 yesterday). At least it is not ectopic...I can get pregnant. I even ovulated from my left ovary and only have my right tube. I don't care what the doctors say, it works. I also did a lot of praying this month. Even though I lost it, it was a great miracle.

Hey ladies, I have been reading this thread and you all give me hope:) I lost my daughter Dynasti last year 3 days after Christmas. i was 6 months pregnant, and the doctors said it was due to chorioamnionitis. I had an HSG done June 5th, and ended up skipping a period. So I didn't see AF until July 26th. I ovulated this month, and I am now in the 2week waiting period. I am hoping I am pregnant again. I will be back to post updates, but for the most part, all i have right now is prayer and hope.

I just had and HSG with virtually no pain. All other tests (HSG too) are normal except my eggs are 41!! Is there a percentage of pregnacy after an HSG? Your comments have inspired me to continue. I feel lucky and know my life is destined to have kids in it. Good luck ladies!

After an HSG reproductive endocrinologist suggest that they have seen a higher incidence of pregnancy. Why? Because the dye that they push through your reproductive organs clear out tissue etc. Making it easier for a pregnancy to take place.
Yes, this is the very uncomfortable test for some of us! I was one of them and had it done 4 times over a course of ten years.

Hi girls- I had an HSG done in June(I worte about it in here). I did not get PG the first cycle but I did my second.... I finally got my BFP after trying for over a year. I am pretty sure it was the test that helped me. Good Luck ladies.

I had a HSG July 24th. While it wasn't a picnic, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I got bad cramps and a little light headed afterwards (probably because I was SO nervous!). They injected oil as well. I went in on day 9 of my period. I think I ovulated on day 11! And I just found out Sat. that I am pregnant. Who knows if it was the HSG that did it. But we were just about to do IUI because we have been trying for 9 months and my husband's semen analysis showed he had lower than normal morpholgy (everything else was normal). So this is truly a blessing. Good luck to you all!

I just my HSG on Friday, August 25th. I'm 40 and actually just started trying to conceive this past January. A friend of mine had one a couple years ago (39 yo) and in the first month after the procedure got pregnant. Felt uplifted that I took this step forward and let myself dream a little after the test by reading through a book of baby names.I'll report back with any good news.

I wanted to update...I posted earlier that I had an HSG and got pregnant the same month but ended in miscarriage...well I found out it was actually an ectopic. I was fortunate enough to not have surgery "this time"(only the methotrexate shot), but it has set me back a few months(b/c you have to wait 2 months after the shot to get pregnant again). So that sucks. I wanted to post...not to destroy the hope but to make everyone reading this thread aware. When I kept reading I had great hope, then a BFP, then a roller coaster. Just know, that yes, I believe that the HSG increases your chance of pregnancy(I had been with my husband for 5 years and then the very month of the HSG, I got pregnant) after the HSG they told me my last tube was open, I thought "yes it is true what they said on this thread...the dye opens your tubes" and seeing that BFP was surreal, but it sucks to see it when it is not "for real. So if I had it back to do over I still would have tried again...I believe in miracles even though I was not that fortunate. Knowing what I know now I would have still tried naturally...but I just had to let all of you know the truth b/c I think people come to this thread with hope, get hope, then don't hear anything else and believe that these pregnant women went on to deliver their babies(after HSG). Any questions feel free to ask...hope I did not hurt anyone...

HELLO EVERYONE I AM NEW TO THE BOARD. I HAVE HAD MY TUBES TIED FOR OVER 6YEARS , RECENTLY MARRIED 1MONTH AGO. IN SEPTEMBER I WAS 1WEEK LATE AND HAD SEVERE CRAMPING. I SPOKE WITH MY GYN ABOUT MY TUBAL PROCEDURE SHE ADVISED A HSG. IT SHOWED ON TUESDAY THAT MY TUBES ARE HEALTHY AND THE CONTRAST SPILLED FREELY BILATERALLY. I AM HAPPY BUT NOW EAGER TO GET PREG. HOW SOON WILL IT HAPPEN ? ANY ONE OUT THERE WITH THE SAME SITUATION?

I am 4dpo right now, and have an HSG set up for Monday 11/27/2006! We have been trying for #2 since 11/2004, our son is almost 3 now! I am ovulating, my husband has gotten an SA and is normal, I am on my 3rd round of clomid, no luck yet! Did you all get preggo soon after HSG, did anyone go on to get an IUI? We are thinking of doing this after HSG..

mrsyouthlady - November 9
