Hi Crysta! I have pcos, and never have regular periods. But I found out that was cause I dont ovulate properly. There are many causes of infertility, and when your cycles aren't regular it doesn't help. But the good news is that these days there are many wonderful medical advances that can significantly raise your chances. Keep your chin up, and good luck!!!!

Your definatly not alone... in fact there are many women here dealing with it through medication and other treatments. They are really great women and can be really helpful. It also helps to have a place to let off steam! Do you have any appointments with gyn or infertility specialists?

I have PCOS and understand what you're going through. Have you ever been on birth control pills? If so, how long after you stopped did you start ttc? It may sound really weird, but this is my story. My husband and I have been trying for 8 months, and we tried Clomid last month. My husband didn't like how moody I was so we agreed we weren't going to try that again. When I talked to my doctor about it, he suggested going back on birth control pills. According to him, women with PCOS can actually improve chances of getting pregnant by going on the pill. He told me to go back on the pill for 6 months then stop. The pill will regulate your cycle which means (in many cases) once you stop the pills, you will ovulate for a few months before the PCOS kicks back in. This makes sense to me because I have one child and I got pregnant with him on birth control. So that's what we're going to try. I figure, the 6 months on the pill will relax me and give me time to recover from the last 8 months and prepare for trying again, which always helps! At least this way, I won't be so stressed out every month, I can just sit and enjoy having the blessing that I have. I just thought I'd let you know that. Maybe you can ask your doctor about it. Good luck!!

Jill, that is a really good idea. I too was on Clomid this month along with Metformin, and let me tell you the emotions did fly!! I'm going to brave it again for another month (I heard alot of the women here got pg on second round), and then maybe look at my options for the month after. I think I'll talk to my gyn about bc.
