ovulation(but cant see any egg)

yesterday I went to see the doc as I am trying for a baby.After checking the doctor told me that I am in my ovulation period butshe cant see any egg . she did ultrasoud.This month I am 10 days late for my periods otherwise my periods are very regular.Is it very unnatural . I am very scared as I really want to get pregnant soon
