I have high prolactin, the highest it was, was 60.. the lowest about 45. I just went to a RE and he put me on dostinex.. The odd thing is, I got pregnant twice with no trouble AT ALL! , but I did miscarry both. (i mean, we 'tried' twice and I got pregnant twice!) He said that high prolactin causes low progestterone and that may be why, so I hope to God that this Medicine fixes me and I won't have another miscarriage! I'm so scared to get pregnant again!!

I have known about my prolactinoma since I was sixteen, which I now am 25. I am on dostinex 2 pills daily, which is 7 times the recommended dose. The last time I had my prolactin checked it was still 42.7. I am going to a RE, and he has put me on clomid. So now I am doing the clomid with an hcg trigger to do iui with donor sperm (male factor infertility). I have been looking for people with similar situations, but mine seems to be extreme. I hope someone has a similar situation. If not I hope my situation will help someone else!!!

hI ladies, I was diagnosed with a micro ademoma on my pituitary glad back in Feb. The hightest my prolactin was, is 36. I went on bromocriptine (parlodel) & within weeks it went down to 14.
Ferge-This type of tumor is benign. You will not die from this. You still should be followed by your doctor. I was told by my doctor that they rarely grow & sometimes goes away with meds. I do have to have a repeat MRI in a yrs time. Good luck to you.

I have just had some results back and they are 1109. I had the same problem a few years ago had mri scans which were clear and there is no explanation as to wy the levels were so high. At that time they were over 4000. I took Cabergoline and fell pregnant the month after i stopped taking at. I went on to have two boys before my levels have started to rise. My children are now 4 and 6! My problems started when i was about 14 and i am now 31. If any one wants to e-mail me to @ hotmaildotcom

Has anyone else had the following symptoms woth their elevated prolactin levels: nausea, dizziness, insomnia, hot flashes, fatigue, night sweats, mood swings? My MRI came back negative and my gyno wants to wait 6 weeks and repeat my blood work. Do I need a second opionion?? Thanks Erin

Hi Erin, I get most of those symptoms when my prolactin is elevated. I was diagnosed back in Feb with a microadenoma. My prolactin was around 36 but with meds it was sitting around 14. I've been on parlodel for a few months now., but just recently I started getting right sided headaches, which I had when my prolactin was elevated. I'm suspucious that my prolactin is up again. I will have it retested soon. I'm getting set in Aug to do FET...

Tks Sara. Is there anything that helps these symptoms? I finally got an appointment with and endocrin. on friday of next week. Not knowing what they will do is this going to become a long drawn out process???

Hi, I also have high prolacin levels with symptoms like nausea, dizziness, insomnia, hot flashes, fatigue, night sweats, mood swings. My MRI did not show a tumor. There are days when I feel ok without any problems and then suddenly I collaps - feel VERY TIRED and nauseaos etc. Early mornings/ nights are sometimes the worst. For couple of months I have been on and off work as I never know how I will feel next day. I haven't taken any medic. yet as my doctor said they would make me feel even more sick but at the same time I can't carry on normal life as I am feeling at the monent. Is there anyone who feels the same?

Hi Jess-- I agree with your answer because nothing is impossible with God..as human though, we tend to get a bit emotional at times...Please pray for me--we have been trying too for almost two years, with high prolactin problems also....I also need your encouragement on prayes because sometimes i dont even know what to pray anymore,....

i just found out i have high prolactin levels after doing clomid for 4 months and one failed IUI me and my husband really want to have a baby do you think i still have a chance? i have PCOS and its really been hard for me we have been trying for over 1 yr now what can i do to help me get preg.? can i take some meds for the leves to lower? and while taking the meds can i still get preg.? sorry all these questions im just really worried.

Hi there, mine is high 40.5, but I have my periods normally in fact I've never had a late period, and I got pregnant easily, so... can anybody explain to me why this high prolactin level, and what causes it?

I am looking at my result and it says Prolactin is 843 uIU/ml. What level does this mean? My doc has just put me on Dostinex because he says it is very high.

I am 47 and also my prolactin was high at 34.6 and my breast hurt and also not sleeping well at night and that is how i found out i was high on prolactin and my periods are normal is there anything also i should know about this.

hi all...ive also been diagnosed with hyperprolactinemia..my levels are 24.6 and ive been taking .5mg dostinex twice weekly...along with parlodel daily at bedtime for 3 weeks now...i should go back for blood tests in a week...my periods are irregular ranging from 38 to 51 days...i dont know if im ovulating...how long will it take for levels to get back to normal??
