Hi ladies,
Just wanted to ask all of you to pray for me. I'm officially in my 2ww. I did an IUI yesterday and one today. Yesterday morning I had one follie on left at 27mm and one follie on right at 21mm. When I went in today to do the second IUI they were both gone, so I ovulated yesterday afternoon into the evening.
This is the second set of IUIs that I've done. The first set back in May were painless and quite easy. This time I wasn't as lucky. My cervix was not opening up and to top it all off my cervix is tilted, making things more difficult. Yesterday the dr had to give me a break because it was too painful to bear, plus the colour was draining out of my face and he thought I was going to pass out. When he went back in again, it was quick and easy. Today, if it were possible, was way worse than yesterday. 2 drs came in to the room and they had to use a tenaculum to pull my cervix. OMG it was by far the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I had to lie for 20 minutes after and my nurse had to put ice on my forehead. I couldn't go back to work and had to come home.
I hope this is the last time that I have to go through this. If I have to go through this again, I'm asking for pain medication before the IUIs.
It's all worth to have a baby and I know that childbirth is much more painful, but at least with child birth I know that it will hurt. I wasn't expecting this today. So now the 2ww begins. I'm taking progesterone supplumentation. Afte the last IUI I took teh suppositories twice a day adn they were quite messy but it was cheaper. This time around I'm trying the Crinone gel which is only a day and not as messy. It's way more expensive but luckily my work insurance covers 75% of the cost, so I will spurge on the other 25%.
Oh, almost forgot. If any of you ladies have the opportunity to have an IUI along with an ultrasound at the same time, DO IT! It's so cool to see the sperm being injected and then go toward the openings of the fallopian tubes.
Baby dust to everyone!!!

chorona, good luck to you. I just triggered today and going in tomorrow at 11am for my first IUI and second one Sunday at 11am again. I have 5 follies, 3 on my right side and 2 on my left that are ranging in size of 16-22mm.I am hoping mine won't hurt tomorrow, last time went quite well and virtually painless, just in case, I will be staying home for the two days of IU's, I will have to call in sick but rather do that and try and help the process some how.

Thought some of the girls would benefit from this article.
At first most people wonder what on earth a cough syrup has to do with fertility, but the logic is easily found in the fact that it is an expectorant and is being used to loosen and thin mucus - just in a different place than the lungs!
What kind of Robitussin is used to improve cervical mucus?
One should buy the plain kind with no letters after it. The only active ingredient is guaifenesin, and it contains 100 mg per teaspoon. It is very important to avoid the versions that contain decongestants as those may dry up cervical mucus. Also, there is some conflicting information about whether dextromethorphan, the DM in some cough medicine names, may be linked to birth defects such as neural tube defects and cleft palate.

Morenas1, good luck to you as well. I guess you test on Aug 8th? I test on Aug. 6th and hopefully we'll both get the BFP that we so desperately want.
GraceL, how are you doing? Have you tested yet?

chorona my re wants me to test on the 6th as well.
I was reading about the timing of IUI's and trigger shot and they say it is optimal to do it 6 hrs before or after ovulation. they do the IUI's 24/48 after trigger shot if it a double IUI or 36hr post trigger shot if it is a single IUI. I think I started ovulating something between the 32/38 hrs pts, I hope I didn't missed the window there, that is what worries me.
Mine were 24hrs and 48 hrs post trigger shot since my RE says washed sperm don't survive as long as a fresh sample.
I chose to miss work and stay home and relax and do the minimal, plus the ovulation was pretty painful to the point I couldn't even sit and it hurt just to walk, thankfully my IUI's were pretty painless, my cervix was in a great position and visible. (was a bit scared after reading your experience chorona).
Well, good luck to all and keep posting.

Just had my 2nd (and hopefully last) IUI today. I am torn about when to test. My 10 year reunion is on the 6th and 7th. I probably shouldn't test until the 9th but I am worried about drinking that weekend. If I don't drink, everyone will ask if I'm pregnant anyways. Would it be bad to test a couple of days before the 2ww mark? Chorona and Morenas, good things come in 3's (so I've heard), hopefully we will all have BFP that weekend. I have been praying for all of you.

Chorona... when i had my HSG done it was the most painful thing EVER trying to get the catheter into my uterus. I literally yelled out and started sobbing and couldn't stop till after it was done! The tech that was helping even asked if I wanted to hold his hand he was so freaked out. And I can handle pain pretty well. So I think I can say, I know how you felt and i feel for you! I was beyond shocked when my iui was almost painless. sounds like it can be a crap shoot. GOOD LUCK to your innards!
I am excited because as of tomorrow morning I only have 5 more days to wait till I test (aug 1st)!!!! I don't go very long without baby thoughts popping in my brain, and I totally decided to just go with it and not fight it. So I have been googling all things baby... bedding, cribs, cloths, etc. I'm going to be dissapointed with a BFN no matter if i hold back or not. It took some convincing for my hubby though to let himself hope. I try not to look into symptoms, but I still have noticed a few things. Like, some dizziness at night when I roll over in bed. I feel as if i'm going to pass out. Slight nausea when making breakfast, and starting yesterday, my chest is really sore, but more localized than usual. I know all these could be nothing, or symptoms of impending AF or from the hcg trigger, but if I do turn out to have a bun in my oven, these might help someone else get their hopes up haha.
Good luck to everyone out there in their 2ww....April babies are cool!

Whitney412, I would wait to test until 15dpiui. That would bring you to August 10th. If you test to early you may get a false positive (if you triggered) or you may not get an accurate result. I
f anyone questions why you're not drinking just tell them you're taking anti-biotics. I'm going to Vegas this weekend with DH and another couple and I won't be drinking at all. I know they'll probably question it, but I don't want to risk it. I'm probably just going to tell them that we're planning on starting a family soon and I don't want any toxins in my body.
secondfam: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That's amazing news and just goes to show that we shouldn't give up on trying. It will happen for all of us. Hopefully all the ladies on the 2ww (myself included) will be having babies in April along with you!
GraceL: I'm exactly like you. I look at everythign baby related. It's crazy, I'm obssessed! My sister in law is due in October an din less than 1 month it's her baby shower. Trust me, when I went to get her gift, I was staring at everything and picking stuff out in my head. LOL
Anyway ladies, I probably won't post until I get back from Vegas on August 2nd, so I wish you all luck and look forward to seeing more BFP. Tomorrow is my birthday so I just keep thinking tha tmaybe God is doing his magic in my tummy and ensuring that there's a baby implanting! :-)

My Dr called out of the blue this morning. She said she was looking over my hubbys semen analysis and that it was much worse than the last one. She basically went on to let me know there is a very small chance that this IUI will work and that she wants us to consider going on to IVF sooner rather than later. I told her we can't afford IVF and that we will continue to do IUI's for now.
It's weird..nothing has really changed, I knew that his count was super low for the IUI (1.3mil) when we did it, but this has really bummed me out. I know that God is in complete control so it doesn't matter what the Dr says... but it's just harder to focus on that today. My mom called me with this scripture she read today so I thought I'd share it.
Romans 8:31,32
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Good luck to everyone!
