Hi Beth, I'm sorry..The U/S is on my 15th day of my cycle.

Kellie - September 16

My DH had a sperm count of 30 million and my doc said anywhere from 60-150 is normal. your doc said 20-60 is normal? That makes me kinda happy cause that would mean he's in the normal range. Still, at 30, 20 or 10 mil that should be enough to get you pregnant! Only takes one!

KellyN - September 16

My dh tested at 17, which my doc said was only slightly below normal. Another reason IUI is perfect for us.

Kellyb - September 16

Hi Ladies, Yep, My Dr said between 20 and 80 is normal. I can't believe not even one can get there!! It'll happen eventually, right! Have a good weekend girls and I'll catch up with you on Monday.Bye!

Beth - September 17

Hi ladies hope everyone is doing well. I know I was so concerned with the sperm count number when I heard that my husbands was on the low side but my doctor assured me that anything over 10 is fine for IUI (I just looked up my last numbers and his was only 9.5 the last attempt). Kellyb I'm sure your doctor must be refering to injectable drugs like Gonal F or Follistim or Lupron. They work to force ovulation without thinning the uterine lining. They carry a much higher risk of multiple births because often you'll produce 7 or more follicles. I couldn't use injectables because I produced 7 follicles on clomid and the fear was that I would develop ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. That's why I went on to femara. Does your doctor do HCG trigger shots? It's worth asking about. What that is is an injection that you get when the follicle looks about ready to rupture (ovulate) usually it will be 18mm or larger and then the HCG injection matures the follicle and forces ovulation to occur 36 hours later. I did it with both IUI's seemed a great way to ensure ovulation. I hate injections (though I'm becoming a pro with them) but it didn't hurt that bad just one shot in the tush. So did you start clomid this weekend? Good luck with it.
Hope everyone has a great weekend
-Beth

Louise - September 18

Hi everyone. Kellyb I have lost 1 stone 5 pounds so far and I am roughly 200 pounds which should work out at 14st in England I would like to get down to about 130 do u know how much that is in stones and pounds? Beth I was told by my Doc that she would put me on Metformin to sort out my insulin levels and that should then bring on period and that is all I know bcause when I went back to my docs the original doc who diagnosed pcos has left the surgery and the other doc I saw didn't seem to want to answer my questions might make another appointment to see another doctor to see if I can get any answers- could someone tell me what af stands for i worked out for myself that it's what we in England call a period? Hope all is going well for everyone else. Babydust to all Lv Louise.

KellyN - September 18

Hi Louise! Af stands for 'aunt flow'. I've only heard it called that on these web sites. We call it 'period' here in the states too. Well, I am 7 dpo, and starting to see signs of regular cm (since not taking the clomid this month). Kind of boring here on the weekend without dh around, but I'm packing for my trip next weekend, so am staying busy. Good luck to you guys, and mucho mucho baby dust!!

Kellie - September 19

Hi guys, how are you! Wow you guys seem to be much further along in the fertility treatments than I am. I get lost in your posts! This may be crazy but I have ordered 3 months worth of Ovulex. I can not seem to find one bad thing about it anywhere. It's totally natural which is why I am so drawn to it. You guys are the only ones who know besides DH and my mom. I don't want any unnecessary people knowing what I am trying now! But it seems pretty amazing, Dateline and 20/20 have done stories on it and it's success. Please if you decide to research it and find anything negative, let me know! It should be here in a day or two, and I am on my last day of my period so we will see what happens! Good luck all and I will talk to you soon.

kellyb - September 19

Hi gals! Beth, I did start my clomid on Saturday. I don't know about you guys, but this pill makes me VERY emotional, just for the 2nd and 3rd day though. I've learned to read the signs now. Kellie, I hope the Ovulex works for you. I've thought about purchasing it too. Louise, I'm not sure of the difference between stones and pounds, but good luck on getting to the weight you would like to be. Sounds like you're off to a good start. Have a good Monday!!

sharni b - September 20

hi ladies i too have pcos and am ttc thing is i am on no medication should i be?i had a mc in april 2004 and found i had pcos not long after that.Do you think i need to see dr before we ttc?or should i just see what happens?help

Kellie - September 20

Maybe you should check with your doctor and see if there is anything they can do for the PCOS. I know that Clomid can help it. I don't have PCOS but occasionally get cysts and they gave me some medicine to help.

Beth - September 20

Hello everyone things here are going well. I stepped down from my management position this week NO MORE STRESS!!! I'm so excited to be out of middle management and can't wait to get back to doing what I went to school to do (be a pharmacist).
Sharni nice to have you join us. Have you seen a doctor since you started ttc? I know they recommed it just to make sure all your health care is up to date and they'll usually give you a script for prenatal vitamins if you aren't already taking them. With your PCOS do you know if you ovulate? I thought I was but it turned out that I only did about ever 4 months which explained why my periods were very irregular though I did get "flow" about ever 40 days or so. I thought I just had a long cycle. A lot of times with PCOS you will need either medication to control blood sugar or medication to force ovulation (or both). I only needed medication to make me ovulate. I did 3 cycles of fertility treatment before getting pregnant and am offically 9 weeks today! Good Luck
Kellyb I was SO emotional on Clomid (again why I hated that med) so I feel for ya (and your DH, just kidding). You're lucky it only lasts a few days mine dragged out the whole cycle.
Kellie great to hear from you and that things are well when is DH coming back I saw that some of the marines were leaving LA not too long from now I hope he's part of that group.
KellyN is your dh coming home at all this month? Enjoy your up coming trip remember sometime soon those great trips will have to go on hold!
Baby Dust to all!
-Beth

KellyN - September 21

Hi all!! I have been reading, but not much here to report since dh is away this month. He will get back about the same time as I get back from my trip. I'm leaving this Friday and will be back the following weekend. Looking forward to getting away. Kellyb, Clomid makes me very anxious and easily angered. I just hate it, but for me it only lasts starting about the third day of taking it until a couple of days after the last day of taking it. Sharni, I think you should go see a doc about it. Some women with pcos have ovulation problems, others have a higher rate of m/c. They will be able to check you out, and make sure you are good to go. Aside from that, I've learned to eat more organic foods because I've read that pcos may in part be related to food preservatives and growth hormones. My doc told me to eat more veggies too, so I'm trying to find veggies that I like to eat. So, where are you in your cycle? Beth, 9 weeks!!!!!! Wow!!!!! You go girl!!! I'll be out of town when you do your next u/s, so I'll look forward to getting all caught up when I get home. Kellie, let me know how the ovulex goes. What is it supposed to do exactly??

kellyb - September 21

Hi everyone. That's funny Beth, I actually do feel bad for DH having to put up with my crazy mood swings. I don't think I could take it anymore if I was like that for the whole cycle. I can deal with 2 or even 3 days of it. I can't wait to get my scan done on Tuesday. I really hope I hear some news, any kind of news, ya know. I'm glad everyone is doing good. I can't believe you (Beth) are already 9 weeks. Time is flying by.

LOUISE - September 21

kellie - September 21

KellyN, check out the website www.ovulex.com I have only heard good things about it. It's all natural herbs, and it gives your body everything it needs to concieve. It's 100% guaranteed. It's has a better success rate than all other fertility treatments, including IVF and all that. It just evens out all hormone issues and everything. There is an ovulex post on these boards, you should check it out. A lot of people with PCOS get pg on ovulex. Anyways I am supposed to get it tomorrow and I will let you know how it goes. Beth, time is flying by! Congrats to you and DH! My hubby never ended up leaving, the water subsided and they didn't need the divers anymore. Good news for me. But he is still leaving in January for 6 months...it would be nice to be pg by then! I am crossing my fingers that ovulex is the answer. Talk to you soon!
