I was just wondering since a few years ago my husband had a hernia and of course it was in his area and he had surgery and I have read that it can cause secondary infertility and cause stress there so is this ture? we have been haven't been using any sort of birth control and I haven't gotten pregnant once! plus I have very irregular periods too. any advice would help!

My husband had a form of hernia operation it's called Variocele and was causing infertility. My hubby is now up for a sperm count test 3 months after op. and we are praying that his sperm is less stressed and more active

well good luck to u guys! its been 2 years since my husband has his surgery and he hasn't been tested because we haven't really truely decided that we want to try yet.. but we've been talking about getting a SA done just to find out.

Toscana, you didn't post your age. If you have insurance that covers the tests now, I think it's better to get the answers now. The years slip by so fast, jobs change, insurance changes.... Two years of ttc is more than enough to initiate a fertility checkup, and then at least you'll know what is going on, and what your options are. Asavvas, how was the op for the variocele? Could you feel it yourself before they removed it, or did they need to do the us to find it? We've got a us coming up to look for one...
