Can low sperm count/motility be linked to miscarriage?

In the five years my wife and I have been married, my wife has conceived at least four times (we weren't trying for the first year) but always had a miscarriage in the first couple of months.

I've had fertility tests and have very low sperm count (3-4m) and motility (I think doctor said something like 8%) but obviously we're still able to naturally conceive.

What I'm concerned about is whether poor/abnormal sperm can affect the pregnancy?

We can't go further down the "joint" fertility road until I've seen a urologist. I don't mind doing this if it's really going to help, but the fact is getting pregnant isn't the problem. Everything has to go on the single road it seems, and we can't investigate further what might be happening for my wife (she's had blood tests, all normal) until I've gone down this road.
