My Dr. said nothing in the vagina for 24 hours ie, no sex or no tampons for 24 hours.

We did wait for 2 days after the test just in case. But he didn't say anything about not trying this month.

Hi Amy,
I had the HSG test on December 23, 2004 and got a positive PG test on February 3, 2005!
DH also had a low sperm count. We had been TTC for 16 months.

Two years ago in July I had an HSG done and got pregnant within 6 weeks. However I miscarried that baby and haven't had any luck with pregnancy since. Today I had the procedure done again. The radiologist said his wife and his sister both have had this procedure and are having babies. It does work- good luck to you. Maybe you should try again like I am.

Me again- I want to know about clomid because that is the next step a couple of months after the HSG. We have a 5 yr old and my husband is happy. He is against clomid because we've had so many friends that have conceived twins.

I had a HSG on April 18th. It hurt me very bad and I took a vicoden before the test. The test took about 15 min to complete because they was having trouble getting the cathedor through my cervix. My doctor told me that your chances are increased for the next three months following the HSG and most women they performed it on got pregnant the same month. I am ovualting now so I got my fingers crossed. Will update when I know. Good luck to all.

My doctor only told me to wait 24 hours to have intercourse following the HSG. I did have a little bleeding immediately following intercourse for the first two days after this 24 hour waiting period, but I am assuming I was just "cleaning out" from whatever may have been in my tubes, even though my results showed no blockages. Still "trying"! I am due for my period next week and am keeping my fingers crossed that it does not come. Anyone get pregnant the same month they had an HSG? TTC 1+ years.

So did you ever get pregnant? and did they give you any hormone pills to help you get pregnant?

Just thought I would join in too. I have been looking at all the entries for the past week or so. I am having HSG on Thursday. I was really nervous about it until I got on this site. Feeling more at ease about it now. We having been triing for about 3 years with no luck. We know we can get pregnant we have 2 girls but we are having problems now.
Hopefully everthing will be ok. Husband sperm count was good Dr saiad she would also start me on Clomid.I will get back on here after my test to report her findings. Good luck to all.Congratulations on your positive test Babs!!

Today I will get back the results for infections (chlamydia, vaginal and cervical bacteria) . If negative, I will go ahead with HCG in about a week and so excited about it. Reading in this site that HCG will increase our chances to become mothers I will try to forget about how difficult might be. 4 1/2 yrs TTC. Wish me luck. Baby dust to all of us. :o)

When I had my HSG done, I took a prescription strength ibuprofen about an hour before the test. I had just some minor cramping when they were inserting everything - felt like minor menstrual cramps. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and quick the test was. Actually I have been told that taking 600mg of over-the-counter ibuprofen does just as well as one of the prescription strength pills for alleviating the discomfort. If you read about the procedure, especially on the internet, they make it sound like this horrible thing but it really isn't that bad. Good luck!

I didnt have luck with it but many people i know got pregnant right away, i had it done two years ago and never got pregnant, but you could be successful you never know, we will keep our fingers crossed for you, wishing you the best
