does scarred ovaries causes infertility? my sister-in-law has multiple surgeries for repeated ovarian cysts for the past 5 years and now she is trying to conceive but all she got are negative results. could it be that her ovaries are malfunctioned due to the surgeries?

physical damage to ovaries due to surgeries may affect or result in failed ovulation.i know it sounds scarry but doctors said it's treatable.

yes it may cause infertility. scarred ovary or tissue will disrupt a normal conception. but it still depends on the severity of the scar. please refer it to a doctor.

i really don't think so.. no matter how bad the scar is, you can still get
pregnant anyway. you just need to get checked by a doctor or gynecologists and they will give you options.

I'm sorry to say this, but yes it is possible. Scarring can damage the ovaries. This can hinder the normal ovulation process. Ask her doctor if they think the surgeries could be the cause. Also, ask for suggestions about what she should do about it now. I hope it all works out for her. Good luck!
