Hi everyone. A week ago thursday we had all of the above tests done. Our surgeon thought my tubes were blocked and was able to unblock with HSG. They found endometreosis on the outside right of my uterus and removed as much of the tissue as they could. Recovery seemed to be going ok until yesterday. Here is my question: The surgery was done on the thursday. My period was due on the Monday. The nurse said that I would most likely not get one. The post surgery bleeding seemed to stop by Tuesday. Then on Thursday (one full week after surgery) I started to get period cramps. Then on friday - I began bleeding again. Bright red blood. Heavy - but not more than usual. I have now been bleeding like a normal period for two days. Taking motrin for the cramps. Has this ever happened to anyone? I didn't think I would get a period but when you think about it....why would my body not try? Anyways. Any advice would be great. I AM CONFUSED! ?

I had a lap and D&C done because of an ectopic. I got my period five and 1/2 weeks later. I was only told that your periods usually returns 4-6 weeks after. My situation is a little different b/c I had to wait for my HCG levels to go done to zero before my cycle would reset itself. I was also told that your cycle could be just the opposite of what it was before the procedures.

Hi redmonsky, my answer may come a bit late given the log of your question, but I had the lap and Hysteroscopic procedure aswell. I was told not to be surprise if my first period comes in the same fashion as all prior to the op. Therefore, it may be normal for you to get it as you did. Anyway. like I said this probably come a bit late... hope you sorted it out.
I bleed for 5 days after the surgery and haven't had a period for a month and a 1/2/..... No I am not pregnant (did the urine tests), but I afraid of what it might mean... Take care redmondsky I hope everything works out for you.
