Late Periods while trying to conceive

Hi, Iam 27 yrs old and i have been trying for the past 3 months and have had no luck. I always check the ovulation calendar to see when i would be ovulating and try every other day. I have tried the ovulation kits but never got a postive result of when i was ovulating so i just went by the calendar. Lately i noticed since we started trying my periods are getting later and later. I used to be regular 29 day cycle, then moved to 31 day cycle , then now its down to 33 day cycle , before trying i was always regular. Does this mean that Iam not ovulating? Because my periods are getting later and later, every month i think i may be pregnant but end up getting my period a few days later. Does anyone have any answers to why this may be happening?

I don't think it means you're nto ovulating I think you may have been ovulating but testing on the wrong days. Start testing the first day after you finish your period until you get your next period sometime in there you should see a positive. Also try temping in the mornings...during the week or two weeks you could be ovulating your temps stay high and then they drop down again right before your period and stay down during your period...if you happened to get pregnant during that month your temps will stay up after about 18 days if they are still up and no period arrives or little (maybe spotting barely for less than 2 days) spotting happens test on day 20 of your temps stay high you should get a positive pregnancy sign (usually by this time maybe even before you start to test you sometimes get sore breasts, naseated, mild or little cramping or pulling, headaches, ect..) . if no positive then see your dr. if your temps don't stay up for 18 days and they drop back down and still no af then still see your dr. hope everything works for the best. good luck and take care!

Tnanks for your response, What do you think is the reason for my periods getting later every month since i started trying to concieve. I was a 29 day cyle the first month i tried i didnt get my period until 30 days and the month after that 31 days and now its 32 days. I am just worried if that may affect my ovulation in anyway.

I stopped taking the pill in July. My once 28 days cycles became longer each month. I am still ovulating but not until cd21/22 and my cycles are approx 36 days total. I started Vitex to see if I can move up ovulation and shorten them. Unsure why cycles are getting longer but the fact that we ovulate is a very good thing.

the only thing I can think of is maybe stress??? maybe ur stressing too much about the baby thing...sometimes it happens...but, if you're that upset about it I would make an appt. with your gyno. I mean speaking for myself...be thankful you're getting your periods I'm lucky if they come once or twice a year...but anyways that's just me..good luck!

Hi Anna, I am having the same problem. I went to the dr. i was always 28 days and now dr said body is switching to a longer cycle. since mine was 28 days for 15 years or so. Since ttc it has been late 4 out of the 9 months of ttc. As far as i know i am now on 31 days but i am not even sure if it will arrive then. Baby Dust to all.

Begin testing with an ovulation kit right after your period ends, every day. Reduce or eliminate fluid intake for 2 hour before the test. The best times to test are from 11 AM to 3 PM. The LH surge usually occurs in the morning and doesn't show up in the urine 'til about 3 hours later, so early morning testing wont help you. Every woman is different, I happened to ovulate this month only 4 days after my per. ended. Have you been checking your basal body temperature and cervical mucus? Google it, and you will find out how. All of these tools are most effective when used together, and can be misleading when used seperately. My cycle is also highly irregular, but these things have helped my pinpoint ovulation. Also, many women, like myself, experience sharp pain, cramping and/or spotting during ovulation. And as far as I know, you cannot get a period without ovulating. Good luck. I hope your waiting game ends soon!

I just want to THANK ALL OF YOU for the responses this is my first time trying to get pregnant. Iam 27 yrs old. and i have been married since i was 24 I just feel like i waited wayyyy to long to try to concieve. Now that all my friends are getting pregnant i feel left out and i feel the pressure is on. I try not to stress myself out but i cant help. I also have RA ( rheumatoid Arthritis) I am on medications for that as well and sometimes i feel that may cause me not to get pregnant even though the doc. has assured me it will not affect my pregnancy. It helps to talk to ppl who have gone throught this and may possibly experiencing the same problems. Again thanks all.

I do not show there is having any problem of your health. It is mainly due to stress. You are taking too much pressure to conceive that and its effects on your health and hormone.

contact pregnancysolutionhome at gmail . com if you are trying to get pregnant, I never thought I'd be writing this message but after 5 years of and nearly lost my marriage due to not be able to have a child, severe endometriosis and scanning, I was told that IVF was the only option. This was something we could not afford and had almost given up hope of becoming parents. A friend of mine recommended DR Aboki to me and persuaded me to contact her, she did a spiritual breakthrough for me to make me get pregnant, within 2 weeks I was pregnant (naturally!!!) and gave birth to a healthy twins in february. I am writing this message for those women who are at the stage I was at, depressed with no light at the end of the tunnel. give DR Aboki a try to help you solve your problem, and hopefully you'll have the same success that I have had. Here is her email address pregnancysolutionhome at gmail . com . wish you all happiness in your marriage.

No, its doesn't mean that you are not ovulating, it just happened sometime....but if still you have some queries and want to know in detail, I will suggest you to concern some specialist or if you are not comfortable with, then go with online webinar experts, they do chat and video call you to answer your queries...God bless you....
